id be shocked if the expos won this series and i wouldnt be surprised if they didnt win a game. The 3rd game is likely not to be Estes, and if it is it just proves how stubborn Baker is. It will likely be Cruz, who has been very good as a starter this year, or Prior, who dominated the Expos with a 4-hit, complete game shutout last time he faced them

Day isnt going to beat Zambrano, one of the hottest pitchers around. And you already conceded that Tucker will not win.

The Cubs are very hot coming into the series and the Expos are very cold.

My prediction: Cubs sweep. I usually don't predict sweeps, but we're hot and everything has been clicking lately.

Cubs are hot Expos are not.

Cubbies take 2 of three, if they don't outright sweep the series.

that was a frustating game! Clement gave up three runs on 0 hits. The Expos took the lead on a popup that no one really called. It was a good pitch by Farnsie to pop him up too. The Cubs should have won that game.:(

sure we do...if the number of games we win combined with the number of games the astros lose equals up to 19 we would make the playoffs, i believe.

It was a fluke.

But IMHO, Baker should be taking Alou out of the outfield during the late innings if they have a lead, for defensive purposes.

Ray, I'm interested in what the Chi Town papers had to say this morning ... On the replay, it sure looks like Alou could've been there easy if he'd been more aggressive ... I'm not sure why everyone really seemed to sort of give up at once, maybe some noise in the crowd or maybe some other fielder was trying to call for one or the other to take it :notme: I'm biased against Alou, so I really kind of point my finger at him for missing it, but I'm curious what was being said in the papers there today.

I can field this one.

One writer equates Alou's bonehead play to the 1998 game where Brant Brown dropped a flyball in a critical game in the last week of the season. (I'll never forget that one)

The roof caved in after that and Farnsworth was charged with four earned runs. Too bad. Farny deserved abetter fate after coaxing an easy popfly when he got into trouble in the 8th.

Today? Anotherbummer. Yoko Ono looked great. Cub hitters did not.

Kind of a downer series. When Alou hit that home run to make it 4-0 yesterday, you could just feel a series sweep. Clement had a no-hitter going and Prior was due up the nexxt game, but everything just fell apart with all the walks the next inning and the missed popup by Alou.

I gotta believe Alou called Gonzo off on that one. Gonzo looked about to make the catch and then just backed away like he was giving way to someone. Then Moises probably lost it in the lights or somethin. The Cub outfielders were complainin about the lighting a lot in game 1 of the series.

Ans AA. Thats exactly what me and my dad were saying about taking Alou out in the later ininings. That's the exact reason we have guys like Goodwin and Glanville on the bench.

oh well. shit happens.

the other two lost as well, so we havent really lost ground (except for the game yesterday)
