A win!!!!! I'm pretty happy with today's performance. Here is my report card.

QB: B Harrington was solid. 4 TDs is always good.

WR: B- Rogers was terrific, although I would like him to see the ball more. Schroeder caught a TD, but he and the rest of the receiving corps was outshined by Rogers.

RB: D The runners were a non-factor. This will be an issue most of the season. Schlesinger did catch a TD.

O-Line: B Gave Joey time to pass. Hard to tell how well they ran blocked, the backs just aren't good.

D-Line: A I thought they were strong all game. Moved the line of scrimmage into Cards backfield. Not easy when you look that the size of the Cards O-Line. Wilkinson and Rogers were very good. Hall did a nice job, too.

LB: C+ Holmes did what he does best, stuff the run. Bailey showed flashes, making a couple of very nice plays, but overall I thought the LBs were only fair. I thought too many passes were caught in front of them.

DB: D I want to give them a E, but it's Week One. Boldin ate them up. No one looked good in the secondary today. Too many wide open spaces out their this afternoon. Nobody tackles with a darn, but that's a league-wide issue in this era. Like RB, this will be a problem for the Honolulu Blue all season long.

Special teams/kicking game: B+ Drummond took a punt back for a TD and forced a turnover. A good afternoon for the special teams.

Overall, it was about a B+ performance, imo. Mariucci takes the boys to Green Bay next week, then Minnesota here and close the month with a visit to Denver. Not an easy schedule, so today's win was very important.

Maybe it is time for Joey Harrington to become the solid quarterback that we know he can be. But you can't judge on one game.

As far as Harrington's pro career, just remember the receivers he has to throw to. They have been less than stellar. I think you can really judge Joey next year when Rogers is in his second year.
