I've also been anxious to see how PNC ranked. It basically agrees with my feelings.

Pretty cool, the article comes out exactly a year since I went to Pittsburgh for a baseball-football weekend ... I said it then and I'm glad to see it get a high score now: It's the best of the new parks (since Camden) I've been to ... Going to Pirates game at PNC makes a very cool weekend baseball trip.
You really have to walk back across the river to get to some of the bars and all, but that's also neat when they shut down Clemente Bridge for either a baseball or football game.
There is one nice little bar we found sort of under the freeway (inside one of the Pitt newspaper buildings) and closer to Heinz Field than PNC ... But the bars downtown in Pittsburgh are plentiful, nice and very affordable, unbelievable how cheap you can drink and eat in Pittsburgh as far as I'm concerned.

Willie, you would have gone to the Clark bar. That is a pretty good bar. Especially if you go through the back hallway. There were several bars/clubs open up right across the street from PNC this summer. A couple of pretty good places. Although, i personally still prefer going down to the strip district and having myself some primanti bros.
I was sort of disappointed though that Caple thought it was onions on the sandwiches. It was, in fact, vinegar based coleslaw. Quite a difference.
if any of you had the chance to visit Pittsburgh about 10 years ago, you could have seen one of the coolest things i have ever seen in a city. There was a "sport mural" painted on the side of one of the buildings downtown. it had depictions of Franco, Roberto, Willie, maz, and I think Bradshaw. Unfortunately, sometime between 1992 and 1995, they tore the building down.

Thanks for jogging my memory, Shawn ... Yeah, the Clark Bar, very nice, loud sports bar! ... And I saw a couple of buildings back being gutted/renovated when I was there across the street from a parking lot near the home plate entrances, bettin' that's where you're talking about those other places are now ... And one thing that I'll mention again is the people in Pittsburgh treated us very, very, very nice ... That always doesn't happen when folks find out you're from Texas, I sure wish I could find out who that first Texan was that traveled around and made an @ss outta' us all!
Mmmmmmm! Primanti's!

I've been to the Clark Bar once .. man, one salad there fills you up for a week! I think I had the steak salad ... whatever it was, I remember I was stuffed and I still had half of it left.
The strip district is pretty neat as well ... lots to do there; lots of places to it. One negative, at least in my opinion, is that the Primanti Brothers there is filthy. The food is great, but the service and its appearance leaves a lot to be desired. I'm not expecting some big, fancy building ... but at least keep the mud off the floors, the bathrooms clean, etc.
