Why?

The intense hatred of the Braves? I mean, it's not like they're the Yankees and buying every good player they can, they're owned by a company that wouldn't even let them resign Glavine. They've made educated moves and signings, they've got a good farm system, and they're just a good ball club. So why do so many people here dislike them?

Met fans are supposed to dislike the Braves! Division rivalry, ya know?

Me personally, I will sit down and watch a Braves game on TBS if I need a baseball fix and the Mets aren't playing. (Don't tell anyone I admitted that. ;) ) I would never never never sit down and turn on a game of that other New York team.

Fraggie --- I will admit up front that part of it is jealousy; I wish it were my Astros who had won a zillion straight division titles and at least one WS in the last dozen or so seasons ... And another part of it is I just really do NOT care for Bobby Cox and Chipper Jones ... I consider both to be gutless and without moral fiber.

And something almost all Astros fans will agree on is that the ATL fans we see at games in Houston are an extremely arrogant and pious group of folks almost to the person.

And the gravy on the biscuit, at least for me, is I hear the same argument from almost every Braves fan these days: "Hey, it's not like we're the Yankees, we're not as bad as them" ... I've never given any points to any defense that is based simply on the indictment of another.

That's why.

I just hate Ted Turner and his stupid wife/ex-wife Jane. I know a Cable company owns them now, but doesn't Ted own that company?

Otherwise, I don't hate them.

I don't believe so, It's AOL/Time Warner now, and though Ted is high up on the higher ups list, I don't believe he owns them. Although with the pay cuts we've been taking the past couple of years and next year, I still wish he did. And why does Bobby Cox not have a moral fiber in him? And as far as Chipper, well, he did the same as Jordan, and he got half the attention Chipper did. Of course, I'm a little biased as he actually came over to the stands in his rookie year and talked to me, a measley 12 year old to talk baseball. Oh well, thanks for the input!

I believe you're right about Ted's ranking in that food chain; I belieev there was some talk earlier this year about him trying to buy back enough to resume his position atop the mantle, but that did not come to fruition as far as I know.

I can understand and appreciate the reasons for your "bias," that's the same for a lot of us with a lot of players along the way ... But once again you try and defend Chipper with the alibi that someone else got away with it or didn't get as much publicity ... Wrong is wrong, period ... And I never thought Cox came clean and always retained too much smugness with regards to his "family disturbance" ... I've got no time or sympathy for any guy that abuses any woman or any child for any reason.
