What are your thoughts so far?:banghead

My random Lions thoughts:
1.) The Lions need too many pieces right now.
2.) I don't think you can evaluate Harrington until next year at the earliest (That gives Rodgers time to grow).
3.) Detroit needs to step up this next offseason and draft defensive players.

A nice win. A typical road nightmare. No ground game. No secondary.
Rogers needs to add some pounds and muscle so he doesn't get jammed at the line.
Harrington continues to improve. Like most young QBs, he's going to be good for a while, then bad for a while.

Pretty much everything Trots said. But, i'll add their special teams have been terrific, and their front seven and offencive line has really improved this season.

I have a feeling they upset the Vikes this weekned. And this is coming from a Vikings fan.
Steve M. is a great coach, and has had a history of developing QBs. Harrington will be a star one day.

Sadly, I'm a Lions fan as well. But for some reason, each and every year, I get all fired up over them. I have to watch them, or I'm grumpy all day. And when they lose, I'm grumpy all day anyways. So the past couple years have been rough on me and the old lady.
Mooch brings a lot of knowledge and experience to the team, as well as confidence. Adding Rogers instead of trading down was the right move, as was stealing Boss Bailey in the second round. Dre Bly was a great pickup, as you can already see. Too bad we lost Cash for the year, though. The secondary needs the most help for sure.
The win over Arizona was great, but still gave me a headache. Letting Boldin rack up all those yards brought back feelings of last year: here we go again. Eddie Drummond won that game for us. That, and they are way worse than we are. Watch what Green Bay does to them. The loss to Green Bay was one of the worst played games I've seen in some time, and that's saying a lot. We seemed to stop the rush, but only after it was too late. If we start that slowly against the Vikings, we're toast. But I'm with adamkrause82 in that I think we can take 'em. I won't be one bit surprised to see us lose, but we have the talent to beat them, if we don't beat ourselves first, ala Green Bay last week.
Having said all that: Go Lions!! I still love you guys!! :banghead

Like the way they have their offense going without a full array of healthy weapons. I think they will give Minnesota all they can handle today and they have a good chance at pulling out the upset at home.

They got beat by a better team today, plain and simple. Injury really hurt them, especially Andre Goodman(who by the way can't cover anyone over 5 feet tall). I still think Joey worries too much over how much everyone likes him, which i see in a lot of his decisions, and his press confrences.
BTW, does anyone know if he got booed by U of M fans today?

I would like to thank the Lions for Claiborne. He was the best move the Vikes made this year. But he needed out of D town. Him getting out and the Lions saying he was fat and washed up made him get back in shape and come out playing again.
It is kind of sad to see the Lions a bad team. The Lions are my second fav team in the North. I could never like the Pack and the Bears. But I think the Lions are making the right moves the last couple of years and they add some LB's and some DB's. I think as the year goes on the Offense will come around. It is a very good Offense that is young and has to learn the game. I see some huge games in the next year or two with the Lions and Vikes.
But the Lions and the Vikes are on the up swing in the North and will be good for a few years to come with the Pack going down and the bears staying down in the North. Lions fans will be proud again here real soon and I think they get those LB they will be the best in the North.

Joey Harrington isn't even the best QB on the Lions roster.

Great indepth analysis there, buddy. Sure, McMahon is better than Harrington. That's why he's riding the bench at the behest of one of the best Q-back coaches of all time.
Either you're a disgruntled Lions fan, or you're trolling. :moon:

Harrington was screwed when the signed Az Hakim and Bill Schroeder as their primary receivers.
Charles Rogers will be a stud, but he needs time to develop. Harrington also needs time to develop. Believe me, he is the right QB for this team.

McMahon showed his rookie year he wasn't a starting quarterback in the NFL, he showed it last year when he was given the starting job, and he showed it in the game the other day. He played well in the pre season against other teams second strings(which is why everyone thought Harrington was better last year), and now everyone thinks he's the next Jim McMahon. He can't get the ball to the receivers, which the receivers problably won't catch anyways because Joey always hits the receivers hands, and they still drop them.

Considering what he had to work with his rookie season, I would say that Mcmahon put up some pretty good numbers in the very few games he played. How in the world does a guy show in his first partial year in the NFL that he is not a starter??? Most guys don't even PLAY as a rookie let alone disprove themselves as a starter.
I have been watching Mike Mcmahon since he was a freshman in HS. I can pretty much guarantee you that he has what it takes to be a starting QB in the NFL.
