CITIZENS BANK PARK - INAUGURAL WEEK

"I think we brought a lot of fun to the city of Philadelphia. Going into the new place next season, it's going to be even better. I think we have a very good club and we did a lot of great things. The future is very bright."

THE FUTURE OF THE FOUR JOE BROWN STATUES

The four Joe Brown statues (two baseball poses and two
football poses) have greeted fans at different entrance gates since the opening of Veterans Stadium on April 10, 1971. And now that the last game has been played at the Vet, many people have asked the question: what will happen to these majestic statues once Citizens Bank Park opens?

Eventually, the statues will be removed from their current
locations and stored until next summer. As the work continues in 2004 to convert the Vet site to a parking lot, the statues will be relocated to the outer portions of the new 5,000-car lot. Specific locations will be revealed next year.

The Phillies have selected Norton Art Conservation, Inc. to remove each of the statues, and also handle the relocation of the Connie Mack statue from Broad Street and Pattison Avenue to the west side of 11th Street, across from Citizens Bank Park.

BUILDING THE LIBERTY BELL HOME RUN SPECTACULAR

As Philadelphia and Independence Park officials moved the
Liberty Bell to the new Liberty Bell Center, another bell has been getting ready for a new destination -- only this icon is the Home Run Spectacular for Citizens Bank Park.

For the past few months, Capital Manufacturing -- a company
located in Hatfield, Pa. that produces unique metal structures for the sports and entertainment industries -- has been busy building the Liberty Bell Home Run Spectacular for the Phillies new ballpark. Standing 50 feet tall and built out of steel and aluminum, the replica is currently standing proudly in Capital Manufacturing's parking lot. Eventually the Bell will be disassembled and later transported to Citizens Bank Park. Once the Bell arrives at the ballpark, it will be mounted on hydraulic
lifts and connected to a 109-foot steel frame behind the outfield wall in right-center field, and raised high above the rooftop bleacher seats.

Once Opening Day arrives, fans will be able to see and hear
the bell ring every time the Phillies hit a home run. Plus, there will be more than 600 pre-programmed sequences of synchronized sound and pyrotechnics - making this one of the most unique home run features in Major League Baseball.
