Ok, I know we discuss this already after game 5, but lets really get going on this.

I know we need starting pitching. Do we see Suppan staying? Is Burkett going to quit? Is Lowe going back to the pen? How we going to compensate Timlin and Williamson? Are they going to be next year's setup and closer?? What the fate of BK, Sourbomb and Jones? Is Walker gone? Is Ortiz gone? Let discuss.

Walker and Ortiz stay, they were huge this year. Get rid of Soup, sign Millwood. Keep Lowe as a starter, he won 17 games this year. I dunno about Burkett, but personally, I think he's done. Something needs to be done about Manny. Seriously. Let BK be a starter. Or at least try, if he doesn't work, trade him. And DO NOT give Grady an extension

They proved themselves in the post-season, now let's see if they can do it all year.

Agreed.

Yes, Walker and Ortiz should be resigned. Rumors have it as we are going to try to pursue Luis Castillo. I like the role players we had this year too. Like Gabe and Jackson. I dont know their futures though. Lowe should continue to be a starter along with Wake. I see Burkett gone regardless if he retires or not. I do believe that BK will be gone also. And Suppan being our #4 or #5 starter. I see Fossum coming back. And how long is Colon's contract?? :notme: Will we still be trying to pursue him? Or is he not worth the big dough?? He didnt have great numbers, but dude pitched like 6 or 7 complete games?? Hes a freaking horse.

It's going to be interesting. They may blow this thing up.

I really can't predict yet. My guess is at this very moment Grady's fate is being decided.

I think it was decided the moment Posada hit that f:censor:in double

Back to the topic...what about signing Javy, make him the 1st baseman, have Jose DH, and have Millar come off the bench??

Is Javy an FA?

Millar is a very important part of the everyday lineup though. I cant imagine him PH. He may not be the best first basemen, but he's pretty freaking good at first. :notme:

One of the best breaking ball hitters in the game. Righty, he'll be 33 next season, so you wouldn't want to sign him to more than 3 or 4 years. I've been watching him since he came up (he's my favorite player), and if you ask anyone who's been watching him just as long, this kind of year was expected of him. He hit one of the farthest home runs I've ever seen in Coors field, in between the buildings that are past the bleachers in left-center. As long as he stays in the same shape, and in friendly Fenway, he'll hit .320+, 35+ HR's and 120+ RBI's.

Do the Braves want him back?

I wonder how much he'd want.

Boston may not want to spend that kind of money for Javy as with the season he had this year he will demand hi dollar....

Also, not sure how he will react to wanting to be a 1B....

Why not just use him as the DH with Varitek??

I really dont think they will sign him though.....

Why bring Millar off the bench???

He had a good season and is affordable....

As far as Colon goes, I am pretty sure he is a FA...

I like Timlin as the setup man and Williamson as the closer.....

This team will be back in the thick of things again next season....

I think they just need another starter and bolster the BP....

The only reason they don't want him back is because they believe they have their stud catcher of the future in Johnny Estrada, and want to make sure he is the man next year.

That's why the Braves WON'T sign him, he wants to be a firstbaseman, but Fick did a good job this year, and he won't be catching because they've got Estrada coming up. But I agree, Boston won't want him, they don't need offense.

This is what i heard, Nixon will be gone, Nomar is quitting to play soccer, damon gone.

If that happens, i don't care, but get Vlady, L.Hernendez, and good shortstop or second, and put walker to SS, if they can't find a good SS, but that's if Nomar quits.

What about PEDRO?

I also heard that, the owner will cut, and try to save money.
Varitek gone?
