I know many of you don't like me. I know I can be abrasive at times and have poor timing with some of my jokes. For that I apologize. Im a Yankee fan.
I want to commend the effort of the Sox this year in this series. It was truly the best series I have ever seen. I was at the game last night, and upon reflection, it was the best game I have ever seen. Even if the Yankees lost l would feel the same way. The Sox displayed the hearts of lions and really left everything they had on the field. In all my years of watching baseball, I have never seen a Sox team like this. There is no such thing as a curse and I truly believe that with good management and the proper off season maneuvers, you will be there again next year...and probably win.
The rivalry is and always will be great. I will continue to be a nasty Yankee fan. Just know that no matter what I say, deep down, I really respect boston and their fans.
Yours Truly,
Anthony

Don't excuse your behavior by saying, I'm a Yankee Fan. It suggests that the mere being a Yankee fan makes you an A-hole.
Now, many believe that to be true, but I don't. :D
It isn't even WHAT you said as much as your timing. Speaking for myself, I am a GIANT sports fan. I attend, and or watch every Red Sox, Pats, Celtics, and Bruins game.
Losing Game 7 was the worst sports moment of my life. Had Roger thrown a 2 hitter, it would have been sad, but much easier to swallow.
Losing because your manager is an effing moron is going to take some time to heal.
I grew up seeing my basketball team win Championship after Championship. It never occured to me to laugh at the fans of teams we beat. That would be ridiculous. Because you see, I AM A FAN. I don't play, I have ZERO control over what happens.
I have a dear friend who is a GIANT Steelers fan. When we won the AFC game in 2001, he was beside himself. A bunch of us bought him a trip to Florida to heal.
That's what it's like in Boston. We live and die through our teams.
When I watched Game 7 Cubs/Marlins, I noted how many 80 year olds were there, watching them cry killed me. I wanted to reach thru the TV and hug them.
They waited their whole lives to see a Cub WS, and that was their chance.
The likelihood either we or them get that close again is nill.
So, be happy your team won, but have a little consideration for those that didn't.

Ok, Ive just heard the saddest story from a customer of mine. His sister is 100 years old. She was watching game 7 the other night. And the poor thing past on during the game. I bet you, she past on happy, cuz we were winning. She probably didnt even know that we lost it at the end. Poor poor thing.

That story reminds me of the Pats fan who died of a heart attack as the winning field goal went up in the snowbowl. He was on the other side of the stadium as me, but word got around quick.
It ruined what was a great night.
Sorry, it almost made me cry too, and I dont cry.
WOW, I guess people really do "live" sports. Cuz I would be dam if I died over a game. :D
