well according not newspaper and info, it seems vlady won't be back in a Expos uniform next year. Contract didn't go, so Vlady will join the Market and become a VALUABLE Free-Agent!
The Question is WHO will take Vlady?

Damn, I was hoping for him to stay, my guess would be either Yankees (espicially if they dont win) or Baltimore.

No, it isn't because of Gammons. I've heard from numerous sources that Vlad does not like to be in the spotlight. He sounds like that rare type of player that wants to avoid big markets. I see him taking a lesser offer to stay out of New York and settle in a smaller market team. Of those, Baltimore seems to have some cash to spend, and would love to sign a big name.

I see your point, but I just see Vlad going to Baltimore as A-Rod going to Texas. He will be eternaly miseriable. The O's will be strapped for money as long as they have Vlad's contract, and we all know where ever he's going he will get an enormous amount of money. I just don't see(in the long run) how this will help the O's aside from them getting a great player. Yes, they can build around him, but then they won't really have enough money to fill the holes that they can't fill with just the farm system. Rember money makes the world go around, build empires and can also bring the end to an empire if used without restraint

They all say he has such a big heart for montreal, why doesn't he stay thier. 15 Million a year isn't much to other teams, like yanks/tex/bos/flor but he should atleast understand that he should lower his contract.

If he would lower his contract to go play with Baltimore, why not for Mtl?

Baltimore has a lot of money right now, and have been looking at some bigger name free agents. I dont even read anything by Gammons.

Blue56 you made a great point. If Vlad wants to stay in wonderful Monteral why not lower his pay? Why not take a 4 mil contract? If he wanted to help this team so badly then why the hell not take a bit of a cut? The guy needs more money, even though he has more money than any of us will ever see :-\

Well he knows he's worth like 20 Million for some teams, and knows he can get the money!
