MOOSE CALL: With word of Wells' aching back making its way around the Yankee pitching staff before Game 5, Mussina approached Torre just before game time and offered to pitch. Torre said no. It would have meant his pitching on one day's rest. And Mussina had thrown a bullpen session before the game, to boot. Pettitte was back in New York.

To me Moose really shed his standoffish, selfish, sucks-in-big-games reputation this postseason. He proved in Game 7 and in Game 3 that he's a big game pitcher, and being willing to pitch on messed up rest shows a lot of heart :)
He's really had an amazing season and I'm happy for him that he was able to pitch well at the end :)
