I heard a rumor that the Cubs are in talks to get Helton from the Rox.

Dont know how true it is just wondering if any of you have heard anything in Cubs land?

Im sure Choi would be involved in any deal for a 1st basemen, plus in the case of Helton a very good pitching prospect. And thats just the minimum Id expect them to deal. Perhaps Farns would be involved...who knows who else?

I agree that Choi would have to go in that deal. I just wonder what kind of numbers Helton could put up not playing in Denver. I know that he is still a great hitter and equally as great in the field, but I just dont think his production would stay as high as it is now. And he aint a youngin either. Not sure of his age. But he is reaching the peak of his career now, age wise.

I actually was popping in to see if there were any rumors on MAtt Clement, who I believe can be a free agent at the end of the month (Matt was raised where I am at and lives here in the off season). I think you guys have an otion, but we have gheard nothing yet. As for Helton..look here:

That is great to hear! I am a Bucco fan, but I started following you guys when Matt came on board and when you took half of our team (well, maybe only a third of our lineup). I was hoping he would stay with you all at least another year. His Dad will be relieved as well!
