I'm surprised there's so much talk about this rumor since Schilling already said that he wouldn't waive his no-trade clause to pitch for the Yanks :umm

Last rumor I heard was A-Rod to Sox and Nomar to Angels and that the Rangers are trying to get Rocket to sign!!

Serious rumors are floating around that the Yanks are on the brink of signing Gary Sheffield.

Finally, some free agent talk. All this talk about offloading Sori and Nick is getting unsettling.

I could hardly object to Sheff being our RF next year.:cool:

One of the things that I like about signing Shef is that it means that Sori is staying here and staying at second (unless he's moved for pitching, although that's unlikely).

And it appears the Yanks won't be going after Vlad anyway, since he doesn't want to play in NY. Shef is the best remaining RF option.

I do wonder about his personality though. I've heard he's a clubhouse cancer.
