I think this is the season people finally realize what an amazing coach Sloan is. Ironic, since its the one year where Utah sucks. :(

15 or 16 seasons....Stockton started off with Layden in 84, and then a couple years later Sloan became head coach.

How long will these counter offers go for? I just saw the trade, its far and all but what i think is i will have to drop one of my guys and then my team will still be about same skill and then some1 can pick up my dropped player, and that will just make some1 elses team will get better. how bout forget it i like the way my team is..

Utah with a sad lost...
----

MILWAUKEE, Nov. 15 (Ticker) -- The Milwaukee Bucks are making up for a lack of star power with an abundance of teamwork.

Michael Redd had seven of his 25 points in a decisive fourth-quarter run as the Bucks coasted to a 100-95 triumph over the Utah Jazz.

Redd keyed a 13-0 run that turned a one-point edge into a 90-76 bulge. Desmond Mason ignited the spurt with a jumper with 7:54 left and Redd capped it by finding Tim Thomas for a basket with 4:16 remaining.

Utah, which completed a 1-3 road trip, had opened the quarter with an 11-4 run to get back in the game.

Without any of the star quality it has had in the past, Milwaukee (5-4) has gotten it done with a complete team effort. Five different players have led the team in scoring, six in rebounding and four in assists.

Saturday's victory followed first-year coach Terry Porter's formula for success. Thomas chipped in 17 points and Mason and Daniel Santiago had 13 apiece. Dan Gadzuric contributed seven rebounds and seven blocks.

One night after scoring a career-high 30 points in Utah's first road win of the season, guard Carlos Arroyo had 21.

Utah is coming off a 83-76 victory over the Rockets and have just one loss at the Delta Center this season. Seattle has lost four of their last six games and are looking to bounce back after losing Tuesday night to New Jersey 93-70 at home.

SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 10 (Ticker) -- Matt Harpring and Raja Bell made sure the New York Knicks did not come all the way back from a 19-point third-quarter deficit.

NBA TV highlights from
Knicks-Jazz: 56k | 300k
Harpring and Bell combined to score 11 consecutive fourth-quarter points as the Utah Jazz handed the Knicks a sixth straight defeat, 95-73.

Harpring collected 22 points and nine rebounds and Greg Ostertag added a season-high 16 and 12 for the Jazz, who had six players score in double figures as they improved to 11-2 at home.

The Jazz were coming off a 102-80 setback to Boston on Monday that snapped a five-game winning streak at the Delta Center.

"It was a lot better (than Monday)," Ostertag said. "We didn't back down, we just stayed in there, we held our ground. We didn't let anyone push us off. We were able to set screens, we just all had good games. That's what we've been doing and got back to tonight."

Utah went on a 16-0 run bridging the second and third quarters to take a 60-41 lead before New York pulled within 70-64 on a 3-pointer by Shandon Anderson with 8:41 left.

But Harpring countered with a layup and a jumper, Bell made a layup, Harpring sank a pair of free throws and Bell nailed a 3-pointer to make it 81-64 with 4:18 remaining and put the game out of reach.

"We let up a little bit, but we felt like we had control of the game," Harpring said.

"We looked like we played a game tonight," Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said. "We've got to play with enthusiasm to try to be effective, and a lot of guys played hard."

Anderson scored 16 points to pace the Knicks, who were playing a third straight game without start guard Allan Houston (sore right knee).

New York, which capped a winless five-game road trip and dropped its sixth straight game away from Madison Square Garden, shot just 35 percent (28-of-79) from the field and was outscored in the paint, 46-20.

"When you go out on the road and don't win, it's kind of hard to go back home and say that you accomplished something," Knicks coach Don Chaney said. "You gotta win -- it's about winning."

Both teams committed 18 turnovers, but the Jazz had 24 assists and the Knicks just 15.

"We were just starting to play some good Knick basketball, and then right before we go on this road trip, we definitely slipped," said New York forward Kurt Thomas, who had 10 points on 5-of-16 shooting. "And then not picking up a win here and losing six straight is tough. We've definitely got to regroup and look at the things we were doing when we were successful out there on the floor -- sharing the ball with each other and not turning the ball over."

Andrei Kirilenko had 10 points and 12 rebounds and Raul Lopez 12 and a career-best nine for the Jazz, who outrebounded the Knicks 49-37 and held a 25-13 advantage in second-chance points. Lopez also had a career high-tying nine assists.

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 14 (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia 76ers needed to play strong defense without Allen Iverson, but could not stop Andrei Kirilenko.

Kirilenko scored 10 of his season-high 30 points in the fourth quarter and had a career-high 14 rebounds as the Utah Jazz posted a 94-86 victory over the 76ers on Sunday.

Iverson sat out for the second time in three games due to a knee problem that has bothered him most of the season. Philadelphia had won two previous games without Iverson this season, holding its opponents under 77 points on both occasions.

But Philadelphia struggled defensively in this one as Kirilenko and former Sixer Matt Harpring, who scored 27 points, helped Utah shoot 52 percent (31-of-60) and win for the 22nd time in the last 27 meetings between the teams.

The Jazz had a 72-71 lead midway through the fourth quarter before pulling away with a 14-5 run. Kirilenko capped the burst with a dunk to give Utah an 86-76 cushion with just 1:54 remaining.

The Jazz held on to win for just the second time in nine road games this season.

Kenny Thomas scored 16 points and rookie Kyle Korver added a season-high 14 for the 76ers, who have lost the first two of a four-game homestand.

BOSTON, Dec. 19 (Ticker) -- Raja Bell saved his offense until things looked bleak for the Utah Jazz.

Bell made two clutch baskets in the final 26 seconds as the Jazz barely held on for a 99-96 victory over the Boston Celtics.

Bell missed his first four shots from the floor and was scoreless through 3 1/2 quarters, but his offense was not needed as Utah had a 95-86 cushion with 3:35 remaining.

Boston responded with 10 consecutive points. Walter McCarty and Jiri Welsch sank back-to-back three-pointers before Welsch buried a short jumper to give the Celtics their first lead since the first quarter at 96-95 with 50 seconds remaining.

The Jazz helped the comeback, going scoreless for more than three minutes.

"We've had the same thing happen where we've let teams come back on us and we look like we panic a little bit," Utah coach Jerry Sloan said. "If we just stay with it and play hard and try to do the right things we'll be alright."

After Utah nearly committed a turnover on its ensuing possession, Bell buried a spinning jump shot around Welsch with the shot-clock running down to reclaim the lead.

"I got stuck with the ball and I knew there was five seconds or less (on the shot clock)," Bell said. "I knew that I didn't have a dribble any more so I just had to get it up. I tried to get my pivot and I pivoted out of the defense.

"I hadn't hit a shot all night, but I'll take the win."

McCarty missed a three-pointer at the other end and Greg Ostertag threw a long pass to Bell for a wide-open layup with 5.9 seconds left.

"It was lucky for us that Walter's shot was long and I was able to get the ball and hit Raja for it," Ostertag said. "We stayed close and got a big shot there at the end to take the lead back."

Mike James missed a three-pointer as time expired and the Celtics lost for just the second time in their last eight games.

"Mike's shot looked like it was going down," McCarty said. "It didn't. We had an opportunity to win that ball game and we let it get away from us."

DeShawn Stevenson scored 22 points and Matt Harpring added 21 and 11 rebounds for the Jazz, who won for just the third time in eight games.

Andrei Kirilenko collected 18 points, six rebounds, six assists and a career-high seven blocks as Utah improved to 2-2 on a season-high six-game road trip.

Paul Pierce scored 19 points and Welsch and McCarty added 14 apiece for the Celtics, who made 7-of-15 3-pointers and 25-of-31 free throws.

Utah opened the second half with a 24-8 run to take its largest lead at 76-58 with 3:24 remaining. Harpring scored eight points during the burst and Kirilenko added six
