i like the move for the cubbies. choi hasnt shown much of his promise at all and derrek lee is a proven commodity. plus he's a gold glover. :)

No to mention Dusty gets a black player for 1B, and as we all know, the blacks can handle all those day games at Wrigley better ;)

Seriously, good trade for Cubs it would appear, could depend a little on who the player to be named later might turn out to be ... But it definitely is a plus for the Cubbies right now.

This is a huge shocker. I never would have seen it coming. But, now Choi will become the great player some thought he could be. Never fails for the Cubs. They always seem to let good ones slip through their hands. I just hope Lee can continue to improve. He is already a HUGE addition to the lineup. Offensively and defensively.

Great trade by the cubbies. Choi is still raw and has alot to learn. With Lee, they have good player with offensive and defensive skills. A good addition. :clap2:

The first base situation is not that remarkable really. What it allows the club to do is to jettison Eric Karros and Randal Simon without paying them anything because are no longer under contract. Cutting between five and eight million dollars allows the Cubs to make a run for Ivan Rodriguez and/or Luis Castillo. Imagine, you get beat by the Marlins and then take three of their infielders.

Well, they got half of the pirates that used to kick them around during the season. Only one they didn't get is the head honcho in Giles. Might as well pick up a few from the Marlins. I would love to see Pudge in a Cubs uniform. Castillo would be nice, but could you imagine a healthy pudge batting in front of a healthy Sosa? would make for another banner season.

i love this. this gives our lineup so much more proven power, and he can also steal bases. We now have 3 30-home run hitters(but remember last time we said that?:hmm: ), plus Alou and Patterson(we still dont really know what he is capable of in a full season.)

And I really doubt Hendry is done makin moves.
