I am really glad he is no longer available because it eliminates the possibility of him being our closer. The dude is very injury prone and I would not have a lot of faith in him as our closer. Hopefully his signing with the Yanks will put a little more pressure on Theo to sign Foulke. :)
I would take Williamson over Gordon.

If we land a solid closer, why not give him a chance to start? We have Embree and Timlin for the setup role.
Agreed. He cant be any worse than Kim or Mendoza. :D
How the hell that happen???? How did my response to your response be on top of yours??? :umm :umm :umm :umm

Gordon's cursed. Stephen King cursed him. They can have him.

Stephen King wrote a book about Tom Gordon. When it came out, Gordon's arm blew out, and King almost died in an accident.

It was a good book though....never thought of it like that..they did both happen right after he wrote it. Scarey...I'm waiting for the New King book to get to my house...if I can find the time to read it!!!

I've heard rumors that after he finishes the gun-slinger series, he's done writing. Just something I've heard.

He should. His books just aren't that good anymore IMO.

Dream Catcher was great, and Insomnia, which wasn't written that long ago is one of my all-time faves.

I have to agree as well. I'm glad the Yankees signed Tom Gordon. I had to cringe when the Red Sox had mentioned his name as a possible candidate for the closer role. Life will be sooo much easier once I read that the Red Sox have landed Keith Foulke. If that was to happen, what would George do then?:D
