Expos switch to CKOO-FM 98.5

The Montreal Expos today announced that a one-year agreement has been reached with Diffusion Metromedia CMR Inc. for the French radio rights of all 162 games of the regular season and three Spring Training games. The announcement was made by Expos' Executive Vice-President, Business Affairs, Claude Delorme.

The games will be aired in Montreal on CKOO-FM, 98.5 on the dial. The broadcast rights also include other Quibec stations of the Corus group which includes CJOI-FM 102.9 in Rimouski, CFVM-FM in Amqui and CFEL-FM 102.1 in Montmagny. Other stations will be added to the network. Also, the games will be available on sound track to Star Choice's subscribers.

"The agreement with Corus will provide baseball fans and listeners in general with the opportunity to follow the team consistently for the entire season", said Delorme. "I would like to sincerely thank CKAC and Telemedia for their 32 years of partnership as well as CJMS for their involvement the last two seasons."

The broadcast team will remain in place. Expos' Hall of Famer Jacques Doucet will continue to handle the play-by-play while former Dodgers' and Expos' farmhand Marc Griffin will be the color commentator.

Following the three exhibition games, the first regular-season game on air will be on April 6 in the afternoon directly from Pro Player Stadium in Miami for the Florida Marlins' Home Opener. The Expos' 04 complete schedule will be published shortly.
