I think it was pretty good trade for the Expos. They got a good 1st baseman and good outfielder.

I was against Montreal trading Vazquez, but hell, Nick Johnson and Jaun Rivera can be better then Javier. The Expos look like they have some good pitching prospects coming up soon

well i find that johnson is a slow first base, and to me, he isn't that great. Riviera is young yes, but i think the only pitcher he faced in the league that he hit well against was Pedro martinez. and for choate, it won't be a big thing.

I bet you that if they would have traded him to another team or wait for other offers they would get a better deal!!

I still think montreal had the worst of the deal.

I don't agree with you on Johnson at all! He's a terrific first basemen. Choat, eh no biggie, Rivera is a good hitter. I don't like the thought of losing the pitching as that is one of our strong suits, but I think this can work out to our advantage.

and the expos really have to hope that none of there starting pitchers get hurt!

The Expos have nice pitching depth, and good prospects there.
