2nd base: We traded Freddy Sanchez for that punk Suppan.:hmm:
Closer/pen help
Possibly a LF
Thoughts? Who's out there cheap?
LF: Im still going to throw out that trade of Garrett for Nomar.
Im clueless on 2nd base.
How about some extensions that need to be taken care of, like Tek, Ortiz, and Nixon? I hope those will be taken care of soon. Also, for Petey.
Im still sooo happy about the Schilling thing, and how hes already making his presence felt. And it just warms my heart about his $500,000 donationg to the Jimmy Fund. I love stuff like that.
Oh but you know what? How about Millar filling in the LF spot and have Ortiz play first? But I think Millar is a pretty dam good at first. I dont know. Comments?? :notme:

What about signing Lightenberg? He did pretty well in Atlanta as both a set-up man and part-time closer.

I don't know much about Lightenburg Frag, enlighten me.
Millar scares me in LF. I'd love to see if Walker could play LF.
I wish this whole Arod thing would just happen, or go away, so we could focus on everything else.

Yeah, I have no idea who Lightenburg is either. Cant Jackson play outfield?? :notme: Hes got the range, but I dont know how great his arm is. I know Damon throws like a girl (no pun intended), but hes got great speed and range.
I refuse to speak about A Rod until this thing finally happens, or finally goes away. :shh:

I lied, I just kept spelling his name wrong. Anyways, 3.09 career ERA, he took over after Rocker bombed out. 30 saves in '98. 303/129 K to BB ratio, and he's only hit 2 batters in 326 IP. Never had an ERA over 3.61, and he's still somewhat young. Good fastball as well.

I'm clueless as to who to put into left field if the Manny and A-Rod trade does indeed happen. I guess we could trade Nomar to either Anahiem or Los Angeles for an outfielder, but who? I don't think Anaheim would part with Anderson, but who knows. Does the Dodgers have any good outfielders?
For second base, well, it'll be a smart move to bring Walker back, even though he's a liability at defense, but he ain't that BAD.
And, for closer, I would still like to see if we can get Keith Foulke, but that will be impossible once we absorb A-Rod's huge contract and eat some of Manny's as well. In that case, what about making Williamson the closer? Or Ryan Rupe?
Any idea's on what's going to happen to Jeff Suppan? Will he be the 5th starter, be traded, or go to the bullpen?

We released Jeff Suppan. Or, bought him out. Whichever, he's gone.

Really? Wow, that one snuck right past me! I obviously missed that one. Do you have a link on this? I'm interested in reading it (not at all saying that I don't believe you, I just hate missing Red Sox news!!! hehe).
Who would be are #5 starter, then?
I think it will go like this:
1.) Pedro Martinez
2.) Curt Schilling
3.) Derek Lowe
4.) Tim Wakefield
5.) ?????
I'm going to cringe if someone mentions Kim gets that #5 starter spot. :hmm: Maybe Williamson will be the #5 starter? He's said before that he wants to start.

And what happened to Jeremy Giambi?
Could the Red Sox afford to move Nomar to second, making room for A-Rod at shortstop, or vice versa? (yes, I know, I'm dreaming) Thus, maybe moving Walker to left field?

The Suppan thing happened a while ago.
Go to www.bostonherald.com and use Suppan as a search word. I'm sure you'll find something.
I think the Sox are thinking Kim as a #5. Do we really care who goes 5th? Our top 4 should be enough. Although I'd like to see Bronson Arroyo go 5th.
Nomah would never agree to change positions.

I think they'd move Nomah to 3rd and Mueller to 2nd if worse comes to worst.

We only had Giambi for a year THANK GOD. He's an FA.
What the heck are we gonna do with Mendoza?:barf:

I was never impressed with Jeremy Giambi since day once, so I'm glad he's a FA now.
Nobody likes Mendoza. I don't. He needs to go.
The Red Sox won't be able to afford Nomar anyways once A-Rod shows up. And PP is right anyways, he will never want to change positions.

Cant they rotate the 5th spot?? :notme:
Between Aroyo and Kim??
