View Full Version : Chris Bosh making a case for ROY

When the Raptors acquired Jalen Rose, Donyell Marshall and Lonny Baxter it was to improve the offense and it did. Chris Bosh is playing like an offensive genious lately, today he got like 22 points and 16 rebounds or something. I think he's had like a double double in almost every game since the trade.
So if this continues do you think he could pass Carmelo or Lebron for ROY?

If he conitinues that Id say anythings possible. But I do think itll be hard for the media to get past the hype for both Melo and Lebron.

Well the problem before the trade was that Bosh was the second guy the team would pass to and as a rookie he stumbled a bit. But after the team got Rose and Marshall, it aloud him to be the number 4 guy on the team and he became more confident, and his rebounding just got better.
Raptors won their 5 straight yesterday

Bosh will be the first to hit the rookie wall. He doesn't have the frame to bang in the paint with real centers, even if he is playing in the East. But even if he played to par throughout the season, he'll still finish 4th at best in ROY voting. LeBron wins, of course. Melo comes in a more distant second than most think, and the brilliant young Wade finished third.
Bosh is going to be a very good player, once he puts on a little weight and improves his game with his back to the basket. His defense is already very good for a kid his age/build.
u are saying lebron over melo? kinda hard dunno...there is much debate about that

I'm definetly saying LeBron over Melo. Now, I'm actually an active member of the "LeBron Hater Club" but I still believe he walks away with this award.
Carmello is putting up similar numbers scoring, but LeBron is doing everything else as well. And he's the on court general for a Cleveland team with a lot of problems.
When the season started, I was the guy saying how everyone was going to regret letting Carmello slip to #3. I've slightly changed my tone now...it comes out like "Man, Detroit is going to regret letting Carmello slip to #3."
It's nice to be able to have this debate though. It's been a while since the NBA draft has produced this many products that are producing quality numbers right away.

So you think it should sort of be Most Valuable Rookie, in the sense that some people interpret Most Valuable Player?

Hey just out of curiousity, what position has Lebron been playing? ESPN has him listed as a point guard, but because he is 6-8 I didn't know if that was his permanent position.:umm

Yes, the Cavs want to keep him as their Point Guard. Once he learns how to protect the ball a bit better, he'll be a fine man to run the point.
They plan on inserting Dajuan Wagner in to play shoot, instead of putting him in the position he was drafted to play, point guard.
His return could spell an inevitable trade of Darius Miles.
