Eff it, I'll lay around and watch SportsCenter all day.
I dont know how much we got here in Brighton, but cars are all covered up. But it was waist deept. And stupid asses didnt even plow around here yet. My brother came by with a snow blower yesterday, and his friend came by with a plow. So that was kinda cool. But I still dont think I can move it. but we'll see when I get home tonite. This weather makes me sick. :barf: I have to start looking for a new car, all wheel drive and nothing less. :D Or move to Cali. :D

Laying around sounds good to me. I need to catch up on some sleep. Sorry about the snow, that was cool to see the fans throwing the snow in the air after thta intercept return for the TD for the Pats yesterday. Enjoy your day off PP. Is the Mr. home too, that can make for a even better day :naughty: !!

True!! Man, I was looking on the internet for snow blowers, and theyre freaking expensive as hell. A small one goes for like $300. I wanted to get a small one. :(

PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT
National Weather Service Taunton MA
1040 PM EST Sun Dec 7 2003
30 Inch snows just northwest of Boston
Pockets of 28-35 inch snowfall occurred in the two day snowstorm that is now very slowly winding down in Eastern New England. Mesoscale banding, narrow bands of enhanced snowfall rates, occurred near Interstate 95 just west and north of Boston from everett to Peabody. At times this was directly attributable to the oscillation of the coastal front. That front separated chilly marine near freezing air, blowing in from the ocean on gale force northeast winds, from the colder polar airmass just to west of the front, where north winds prevailed. The subtle but significant convergence of the differing moisture and temperature airmasses, provided the necessary lift to increase a 20 inch snowstorm in the Boston area to 30 inches in spots, just north and west of the City.
Mesoscale banding tends to occur in many storms, including the noreasters that affect Southern New England.
The following is a summary of snowfall reports of 2 inches or more for the major snowstorm which began Friday evening December 5th and will by and large be ending today the 7th. For many areas south of the Mass turnpike this will be a 40 to 48 hour snow storm while in Southern New Hampshire the duration will be shorter on the order of 30 to 38 hours.
Amounts listed in coastal southeast Massachusetts, mainly Cape Cod and the islands, were primarily at the beginning of the storm, late Friday evening into mid morning Saturday, then rain compacted and or melted the snow there.

The problem is, we live on a narrow winding hill, the plow guys had nowhere to put the snow.
I'm waking hubby up shortly to deal with this.

There are conflicting reports as to how much snow we got in NYC.
Here's the info.
BRYANT PARK 17.8 800 AM 12/07
PETER COOPER VILLAGE 16.0 1000 PM 12/06 (EAST 23RD ST FDR)
NORTH MEADOW 14.5 1100 AM 12/07 (CENTRAL PARK 98 ST)
CENTRAL PARK ZOO 14.0 800 AM 12/07
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN 10.8 1155 PM 12/06
Here's the problem. Bryant Park IS in Midtown Manhattan, and I don't know where they got the readings for the latter. Obviously, we have an 8-hour gap between the 2 readings, so that's probably the reason for the 7-inch difference in snowfall.
The North Meadow vs. Central Park Zoo is fine. They're a couple of miles apart, so a 1/2 inch difference is fine. I live closer to the North Meadow than to the Zoo, so I guess I got closer to 14.5 than to 14.

Those National Weather Service snow reports come from volunteer spotters, except for at airports...and possibly at Central Park.
There is no requirement for when to submit reports, or even to submit a report for volunteers.
Plus, since they are volunteers, and not meteorologists or trained weather observers, there is always the possiblity that drifts are getting measured. That's why I always take these with a grain of salt...especially some of the ones out of New England.

We get temperature readings, rainfall/snowfall readings from there all the time.
