I'd like to hear what everyone thinks about who is going to come away with the superbowl championship this year. Me?.....I think the Colts have been underachieving for too long and maybe this is their year. Depending on the play of their defense, they are my pick right now.

Like every year, I would say it would be my Packers, but their record sucks this year and even if they did manage to sneak into the playoffs, I just don't see them winning or going very far. :(
I'd say the Patriots seem to be the team to beat. They could very likely win it all this year. Though, the Colts are a good choice and so is the Titans.
I would probably bet that an AFC team would win the Super Bowl and not an NFC team.

My vote goes to the Patriots because they are the best team in football right now. Their mediocre running game could lead to problems, but I think their defense is strong enough to hold any team at bay while the offense is good enough to get the job done.
I'd like to say my beloved Rams are going to win it all, but they are prone to mistakes. If they keep chugging along though and manage to win home field advantage through the playoffs, I expect to see a Rams/Patriots Super Bowl rematch. If the Rams have to play at Philly, I am not sure they can win that one. I don't think any other team in the NFC is strong enough to get past St Louis or Philadelphia.

WHO - The Minnesota Vikings
HOW - A divine act by Torfinn, the Lower Norse God Of Football.
WHY - Because he's sick and tired of having his hopes built up in so many different ways, only to have them thrown onto rock and pummelled by the angry seas.
(Actually, I think the Pats are going all the way. They seem to be the team to beat.)

Pats or Colts in AFC. Whoever has home field will win.
Rams or Philly in NFC. (See above)

I would like to pick the Colts to win, because I think that it is about time that Peyton Manning wins something. But they won't, and here's how it will go down . . .
The Colts mee the Pats in the AFC championship game . . . The Pats seem to have the game well in hand in the 4th quarter, when the Colts, pulling one of their patented comebacks, score 3 touchdowns in the last 20 seconds. Still trailing by two, they go onsides and retrieve it. After Manning gets them down to the 20 yard line with one second left, it's up to Mike Vanderjagt, the only kicker in the history of the sport to be on the cover of a magazine, to win the game for them. But the kick goes wide right, to their fans dismay. Mike is then mauled and killed by his teammates, after Peyton Manning moons him. Peyton would later say that Mike was "just a kicker, and we have every right to kill him if we feel that it's necessary, since kickers aren't really people."
The Pats go on to play the Rams in the Superbowl, setting up a rematch from two years ago. The Pats have a 10 point lead going into the fourth quarter, when Bulger gets hurt, prompting KURT WARNER into the lineup! Everyone sees this as him coming to save the day . . . until he throws 4 interceptions on 4 attempts. His wife later complains to reporters that "those 4 interceptions wouldn't have been a problem if one of his own guys would have caught the ball. Kurt can't do everthing."
Final score, Pats 33, Rams 17.

A Miami fan told me this story, so I can't take credit, but I thought it was funny.
AFC Championship game, Colts AT Pats. Blizzard. Game tied. 12 seconds left. Vanderjact attempts 29 yard FG, ball is so cold, it explodes, Seymour rushes to pick up exploding pieces and rushes them back for a winning TD.:clap2:
Pats win on Obscure RuleV article 16 exploding ball rule.
Seymour, in post game conference says, "Coach had us practice the exploding ball play in practice."

That was great! I say Pats or Titans. However, I do see strong hope for the Ravens. :barf: :barf:

Some guy on ESPN wrote how do the Patriots keep winning games?
Simple he said, they score more than the other team. This shit is not complicated.
Okay, he didn't say shit, but you get my point.

Okay.....but let's not forget that Brady and the Pats don't have that infamous tuck rule to save their asses this year!:no

Well Brady and the Pats havnt had to use the Tuck rule vs the 11 other teams they beat.
With how good the Pats are playing on all sides of the ball it is hard to say there is a team hotter than them right now. They are running the ball and they are passing the ball with the best of them all. Add that in with the great defense they have been playing to keep them in the games. Then they can win games in the final minutes of the game. Add that all up along with they look to be having home field though out the playoffs it will be real tough to beat the Pats real tough.
One game at a time. We still need to beat the Jags.

lmfao...
The "obscure exploding ball rule" and vanderjagt "getting mauled and killed by his teammates"...
awesome predictions :clap2: :rotf:
i will say it will be the colts and vikings.
the vikings pull it together again and make a run through the playoffs, squeaking by the Seahawks in the first round. The vikes again look to blow out the 'Hawks until Holmgren realizes that they have again forgotten to run the ball. So in the waning minutes of the 4th, Alexander busts off runs of 45, 76, and 57 yards for 3 tds but gets stood up on the two point conversion to tie the game. Vikes win 31-30.
Marshall Faulk stubs his toe in the bye week. He then, due to the stubbed toe, stumbles down a flight of stairs and breaks his leg. Without a running game, the Vikes avoid another blow out at the hands of the Rams and win 24-10.
Carolina upsets the Eagles. Jack Del Rio, having played for the Vikes in the past, decides its time for his former team to be back in the Bowl, knowing they will need all the help they can get. Despite 4 Culpepper fumbles and 2 int's, the Panthers give way to the vikes 21-9. Del Rio, unable to explain why he ordered field goals to be kicked 3 times with a first down inside the 20 is fired.
The bowl. Unfortunately for the Vikes, James is healthy, healthy and more healthy. In front of the whole world the vikes d gives up a 5 TD, 250 yd game to James. However, Culpepper hits Moss for 3 TD's, Burleson for 1, and Kelly for another. Meanwhile Bennet runs for a 100 yards and scores a TD. Vikes win 42-35.

Well, I would choose the Titans or the Colts in the AFC to win the Superbowl. In the NFC, I would pick the Eagles, they are really hot right now. I would have chosen my favorite team, the Bucs but I'm not sure if they can make the playoffs.

Umm, hello? how about them Patriots? 13-2, and still not getting any respect. Their defense is the best in the league, and the offense has just enough to get by. Hey, am I the only one who want's a Pats-Rams rematch?
Then we can see the Rams get their butts kicked one more time
go PATS!
