Yankees send Jeff Weaver to Chicago WS
Chicago WS send Frank Thomas to LA
LA sends Kevin Brown to NY

Why the Yankees woud do it...IF they indeed did lose Pettitte, they'd be looking for another starter. Brown is an Ace when healthy, but when he's not healthy he's a $15 million DL dude. Losing Jeff Weaver could also be an "addition-by-subtraction" since Weaver may be one of those players who can't play in NY.

Why Chicago would do it...they just lost Colon and will be looking for a starter. I truly believe that Weaver could end up being a very good pitcher. However the spotlight (and Bronx Cheers) of NY may have permanently screwed up his mind. Weaver may blossom when removed from the NY scene. If Chicago is sold on Weaver then this trade could be a very real possibility.

Why LA would do it...Brown wants out of LA, and if the rumors are true, he would like to be a Yankee. The Dodgers need offense in the worst way, and Thomas provides that.

Kevin Brown would be a more expensive Weaver. SAY NO.

Agreed. Although Brown can pitch far better than Weaver, and would probably be better suited to the pressure of pitching in New York, he wouldn't be able to do so on the DL. Which is where he'll be spending an increasing amount of time as his career declines. I say no thanks.

I dunno :notme: . I am one of the four existing Weaver Supporters :D, but I'm concerned that mentally he'll never be able to pitch in NY.

However, the few things I've read about Weaver's work with Conners is very positive, and it looks like Weaver's attitude has markedly improved.

Then again, if Weaver IS one of those people who just can't play in NY, it'd be good to get something for him...and when healthy Brown is a monster....

Why would the Yankees do it???? As a Christmas present to me..that's why:D
We have got to get rid of Nightmare..he has proved he can't do anything for us..can't start..can't be a reliever can't do shit.. Would Brown be able to pitch in NY..we wont know unless we see, right? But he couldn't possible be worse than Nightmare..could he???
