No way we would consider this. Is Philly insane?

That will stay as nothing but a rumor, because if for some reason that became a reality, we need new managament ASAP.

I think Philly should seriously consider a Trot for Thome trade.

I posted on the general forum asking about this- so this is just a silly free-agent bullhockey rumor being floated for fun?
And to the Thome trade jokester- until he asks for $20M a year, JT is going NO WHERE.

I are Baboon,
Now, I must say, I like your line of thinking. :D But how much would we have to pay Thome? :hmm: Or does it matter seeing how many home runs he hits all the time?

I think we should swap the players, but not their contracts. :)

This is also coming from WIP in Philly. THEY are saying it's part of the AROD to Boston deal, with AROD and Abreu coming here.

Interesting.
This is good stuff. We may not like some of the scenarios, but it's great conversation. :)
 :nah
The hell Philly smoking???
Oh btw, I didnt express my emotions yet about Houston taking Pettite.

You're right. Once the words, "Red Sox" come into play in a conversation, it's always leads to good talk. :D Unless, of course, Dan Duquatte's name is mentioned! I still want to put my foot up his ass!

I would assume Texas would still ante up a big portion of A-Rod's contract in this scenario because it makes absolutley NO sense for us to take on that contract if we're going to keep Manny around. Talk about bankrupting our payroll. :hmm:

Oh, sorry. Manny still goes to Texas, but they get Rollins also to replace him.

I kind of like this trade because Bobby Abreau is a hell of a player. If the Arod trade goes through then Rollins could slip over to second base. Rollins isn't nearly as good as Nomar, but he doesn't make anything, but Abreau would be HUGE in Boston.
