Way to screw up the team Theo. Since Henry opened his mouth, it's clear Nomah is gone. LA is pulling out all stops to get him.

Theo did good on Schilling, but then his head got too big. He saw stars, and assumed AROD would come. That deal is dead now, and Henry wants Nomah gone.

This isn't gonna sit well with Trot, Tek, Lowe, etc.........

Foulke is 95% staying in Oakland.

The future once bright, is looking like a disaster.

Tejada will be next on his list if they lose Nomah

Tejada's a crybaby scumbag who chokes more than Nomah in post-season. If we pursue Tejada, I'm becoming a Devil Ray fan.

Seriously.

All be damned. Tejada blows. What a pathetic way to manage a team. They can't trade for A-Rod, so they'll decide to just give away (and I mean it, since the Dodgers have nothing good in return to give) Nomar anyways. I guess they don't care if they have a good shortstop or not, which they obviously don't.

And we have Manny to thank for all of this! FUGGING BASTARD!! :banghead

No wonder why we haven't won a world series in 85 years. We get owners who don't know a damn thing about baseball. :hmm: Everybody hates George Steinbrenner, but at least he doesn't have his head up his ass.

Effing Dan Duquette killed us. That said, pursuing AROD without knowing you could really get him was STUPID.

George still has his head up his ass, but he gets what he wants.

There has been no official word on anything. I am not going to get upset or happy until official announcements are made.

I hear a Foulke decision will come today.

i'm with you Babs. only thing official I keep hearing is off of ESPN, the Worldwide Leader in Sports , so I imagine they would have the latest on any "rumors"

Foulke decision is coming today, there is no 95% leaning, and Theo is very optimistic, according to the official press release. I'd say that makes it 50/50.

A-Rod and Manny talks are still ongoing, so to say we're screwed and aren't getting A-Rod is absurd. I'm not even saying we will, but talks are still ongoing, after all, the winter meetings just started.

And if by chance we're stuck with Manny, believe that Theo will do his damndest to keep Nomar here. Nomar is buliding a house, just said how much he likes it here, and probably understands that this A-Rod talk is more about Manny than about him. If he has even half the class he has shown himself to have, he and Theo will come to an understanding.
(by the way, doesn't matter how hard LA tries to get him, the Sox still have to OK it, and they won't do that unless the A-Rod deal is guaranteed)

im not trying to rain on anyone's parade, especially yours PP, cause i realize that as Sox fans this is what we do best, vent our frustration. I'd be lying if i said i wasn't bothered by the way things are going so far, especially with Nomar, but i also know that Theo has stuck it to George thus far, so i remain optimistic that he will keep it up. There's nothing i like more than seeing the Boss squirm, even if it means we Sox fans have to do a little squirmming ourselves. Just give Theo some time before you turn on ALL the waterworks :) :)

love you all, my fellow Sox fans. guess we're left to just wait this out :wait:

I'm with you, BoSox! :)

If we are "stuck" with Manny, his bat isn't exactly the worst thing in the world to be stuck with, as bad as his attitude is.

For all we know, Theo and Henry as using the A-Rod trade as leverage to sign Nomar. Sure it's a far fetched theory, but not an unreasonable one when you are talking about getting Nomar to agree to $12 million less.

As far as Foulke goes, I think it's just a real hard decision for him. If anyone here has ever gotten a nice job offer while still happy with your current job, you can sympathize with the guy.

I as you all know remain NEGATIVE till I hear a reason to be positive. Jesus Christ, I just got home from the gym, I have about a jillion errands to do, and I can't concentrate on shit till I hear something.

Doesn't Theo get how wrapped up I am? MOVE THEO!

That's why we love you! :D

I am staying positive about the trades because when you hear talks have stalled and they are getting nowhere, that's when we usually hear about a deal, and it usually comes out of freakin' nowhere. We'll probably hear that Nomar got traded to Seattle or Colorado or something.

Last night I kept logging onto the computer every friggin 15 minutes to check for news. :hmm:

Ok kids, kinda good news. The experts say that trade talks have been silenced....BUT dont think thats its over. They say, if the owners/GM stops talking to the media, that only means that the deal is most likely in the final stages. So lets all just keep our faith.

If this goes down, we better get a good replacement for LF. The Manny/Nomar combo is better than A-Rod/some stiff. I think the LF replacement will be the key in this whole thing.

Youre right, he needs to have good numbers, not great numbers, but good enough.

Good enough to provide some protection for A-Rod, although if A-Rod bats third and Jose Ortiz is put in that cleanup spot, that could work.

Trot numbers would be sufficient.

who needs middle of the lineup hitting anyways?? :D :D hehe

with the pitching we have, one A-Rod home run a game should do the trick

I went to a party last night and periodically would duck into the ladies' room to check my cell phone's wireless Internet for updates.

Yes, I'm nuts. I admit it. :notme:
