Banning Books

What is with these people trying to ban books? Why are they blaming the troubles of the world on books? Do you really think that racism, drug use, and theft can be attributed to books that students read in high school? Like the cops that busted up a drug ring are going to report, "Yeah, we confiscated a large quantity of drugs, a wad of cash, and the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe and Mark Twain."

It's totally ridiculous..like, The Catcher in the Rye is banned on a lot of school lists. That's such a great book..I don't get how it could be banned...well, I do, but I don't understand what for. Some people are just ignorant.

Like the damn kids read anything anyway............if it ain't in a movie most will never see it....

I have read Catcher six different times. And I have YET to find any reason why people would ban that book. The problem is not in the books... it's in the people who can't get a grip on reality. I have never in my life read a book, or seen a movie, or listened to a song that made me want to go and do something crazy. It's just absurd.

Banning books is absolutely insane! It's just an out for people to blame the worlds problems on books. This might piss a few people off, so I'm sorry in advance but maybe they should start looking at kids parents for what's wrong with them. When I grew up, a good old fashion spanking cuured me of any wrong doing! Most of the time:devillook
