Michael Barret traded to the A's!

I just heard on the radio, that Montreal expos have just traded Michael Barret to the A's, for a player to be named!

~Athletics acquired catcher Michael Barrett from the Expos for a player to be named.

Barrett still has plenty of upside offensively and has improved steadily defensively, so even though he'll make at least $2.5 million next season, this is a better move than acquiring Josh Bard or Chad Moeller would have been. Assuming that the A's do reach an agreement on a contract with him -- they could non-tender him if he doesn't agree to terms -- Barrett will be a fine option in the $6-$7 range in AL-only leagues. ~

6-7 is wayyy too much. I'm glad the Cubs didnt get him as many Cubs fans expected. He wouldnt be much of an upgrade over what we have.

Barret is a good cathcer but last year, he didn't shine as bright as the other years!!

I guess the expos are going with Schenieder as number one!

What years did he shine exactly. He had a good year in '99 but since then he has had seasons ranging from average to terrible.
