They fired Tony Dungy!!!:angry: Jesus the guy has takin the Bucs to the playoffs every year and they fire the guy? Tell me what's wrong with this picture?
I know this is a baseball board but this really pi**es my off!

well kellye, it DOES very much stink. I really like Tony Dungy as a coach AND as a man. I met him a few years ago, and i dn't know that there is a more upstanding guy in the game of football. That all being said, in these times, getting your team just to the playoffs is not good enough for an owner. Considering that Dungy never had an offense worth anything in all his time there, i think it is a testement to his abilities that the Bucs even ever made the playoffs. It's sort of a testement to the fact that Bill Cowher has been coaching in Pittsburgh for so long.

The worst part about it is that they are replacing him with a coach who will more than likely decide after a year or two that he doesn't want to coach anymore. AGAIN! Don't worry though. He will have a job again by tomorrow.

I know. It sucks. They loved him in Minnesota before he became a head coach. And there was talk that if he was fired from Tampa Bay he woul come and coach the Vikes. But they hired Mike Tice for 3 years.... which is fine, I guess, I like him, too, but I really like Tony Dungy.

Yes Dungy went to the playoffs.....but he had 8 Probowl players on his team last year and was ousted in the first round, sorry i don't know how many this year but I am sure it was more than 3....The talent is there, but he didn't have an offense....but it ain't his fault the offensive coordinator sucked....Oh well it appears now he is headed to Indy to coach the colts..........well it will happen sometime this week....
