Mostly I just didn't want Pettite on my team this year. I traded for him in August last season to make a push towards first (I was in third) and he tanked on me. Mostly this is out of spite for Pettite, and I wanted to get another starter in return. I saw his name on Smelly's list so I moved him. I wasn't planning on keeping Ramirez to begin with, but I do think he is a good player. Is this a good trade? Well, I would never have made it during the season, but I got what I wanted.
