Marty Brennaman and Joe Nuxhall return for their 28th season together on the Reds Radio Network. The Reds Radio Network is one of the largest in professional sports, with 60 affiliates in five states. The flagship station is WLW (AM 700) in Cincinnati. All regular season games are aired on WLW.
Reds radio announcer Marty Brennaman received the Ford C. Frick Award on July 23, 2000, at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. The award is presented each year by the National Baseball Hall of Fame to a broadcaster "for major contributions to the game of baseball." Brennaman and Red Barber (WSAI, 1934-38) are the only Reds announcers ever to receive the Hall of Fame’s prestigious broadcasting award. He is in his 37th year as a broadcaster. Brennaman joined the Reds’ radio team in 1974 and for the past 27 seasons has shared the 700 WLW Radio booth with Reds Hall of Fame pitcher Joe Nuxhall.

Joe Nuxhall, a former Reds pitcher and member of the Reds Hall of Fame, is in his 35th year as a Reds announcer. Joe pitched for 16 years in the big leagues (1944, 1952-66), including 15 years with the Reds. In 1944 he became the youngest player ever to appear in the Major Leagues, at the age of 15, a record that still stands. Joe began his broadcasting career with the Reds in 1967.

For the next four seasons, FOX Sports Net will hold the exclusive local cable and telecast rights for Cincinnati Reds baseball. FOX Sports Net will cablecast 85 games in 2001.
George Grande, a 33-year veteran of the broadcasting business, has been the play-by-play voice on Reds TV since 1993. A native of New Haven, CT, George has covered Major League Baseball since 1965. He also anchored the first-ever ESPN SportsCenter telecast on September 7, 1979.

Chris Welsh enters his 9th season as Reds’ TV analyst, after having spent five years pitching in the Major Leagues for the Padres, Expos, Rangers and Reds. Chris compiled a 21-31 record. He is a graduate of Cincinnati’s St. Xavier High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida. In addition to his television work, Chris also teaches pitching in the off-season, is the featured speaker at several national baseball forums and writes and publishes baseball articles. He is also a regular contributor to RedLegs Monthly, the official newsletter of the Cincinnati Reds.
