The Team is Canada's first 24/7 all sports radio network with extensive coverage coast to coast, and stations in most of the major markets... has the radio broadcast rights for the Toronto Blue Jays through the 2003 season... flagship station is 1050 AM in Toronto.

TOM CHEEK
Play-by-Play Announcer

Returns for his twenty-fifth season as the Blue Jays' play-by- play man... Offseason functions include appearances and speaking engagements for the Blue Jays... 61 years old... Only person to see every Blue Jays game... Born in Pensacola, Florida... Attended the Cambridge School of Broadcasting in Boston... Began radio career in Plattsburg, New York and then moved to Burlington, Vermont where for nine years was corporate sales manager and sports director for a group of three radio stations in Burlington and Rutland... Play-by-play experience includes baseball, basketball, football ball and hockey for the University of Vermont... From 1974 to 1976 was the swing man on Montreal Expos radio broadcasts on television nights... Member of the broadcast team for ABC Sports at the 1980 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid and 1984 Olympics at Sarajevo... Has broadcast college basketball for Mutual Radio Network... Was instrumental in organizing the Burlington International Games (while living in Vermont in 1967)... Married and has three children... Wife Shirley, hails from Hemmingford, Quebec... Children Tom Jr., Lisa and Jeffrey... Resides in Oldsmar, Florida.

JERRY HOWARTH
Play-by-Play Announcer

Back for his twentieth full-season as a member of the Blue Jays radio team... Worked a partial schedule of games in 1981 while still sports director and sports talk show host at KWMS radio in Salt Lake City prior to joining the sports department of CJCL radio in Toronto... Born in York, Pennsylvania and grew up in San Francisco... 55 years old... Graduated from University of Santa Clara in 1968... Served two years in the armed forces in West Germany... On return, attended Hastings Law School in San Francisco where he met his wife Mary... Started broadcasting career in 1974 with play-by-play of Tacoma Twins Triple A baseball and also for the University of Puget Sound's varsity baseball, basketball and football teams... Moved to Salt Lake City in 1976 and did play-by-play of Salt Lake City Gulls Triple A baseball for three years... Switched to basketball and was the Assistant General Manager of the Utah Pros of the Western Basketball Association and Group Sales Manager for Utah Jazz of the NBA prior to joining KWMS radio in 1980... Resides in Etobicoke with his wife Mary and two children Ben (24) and Joe (22).

CBC

CBC-TV Sports and the Blue Jays have a three-year broadcast agreement (1999-2001) as the conventional broadcaster of Blue Jays games. The agreement will see the network broadcast 40 games a year during the course of the new three-year agreement. The CBC-TV Sports broadcasts of Blue Jays games will have the best weekend matchups -continuing its tradition of Friday, Saturday and Sunday coverage. CBC-TV Sports relationship with the Blue Jays has been long and fruitful. The network was the original broadcaster of Jays games, beginning with their inaugural home opener at Toronto's Exhibition Stadium in 1977. CBC-TV Sports continued to televise Jays games until 1981, and carried the team's games again from 1993 to the present. The number of Blue Jays' games broadcast on CBC-TV Sports has increased throughout the years. From 1993-95 there were 25 games on the network; 1996 there were 35 games on CBC-TV Sports and in 1997 the network began broadcasting 40 games a season.

BRIAN WILLIAMS
Play-by-Play Announcer (CBC Network)

Will call all the action on CBC broadcasts of 2001 Blue Jays games... 1993 marked his first season as a regular Blue Jays broadcaster... Considered a sports commentator for all seasons, Brian has over 25 years of television experience... Brian broadcasted over 100 hours of live coverage during the 1988 Seoul Olympics and hosted the CBC Television Sports exclusive coverage of the 1992 Winter Olympics from Albertville, France and the 1998 Winter Olympics from Nagano, Japan... Also hosted CBC's coverage of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and the 2000 Olympic Games from Sydney, Australia... As well, Brian has hosted an array of other major sporting events including: World Figure Skating Championships, The Canadian Open Golf Championship and Commonwealth Games... His broadcasting style has won numerous awards and praise from critics... He has twice won the Foster Hewitt Award for Excellence in sports broadcasting and is a five-time Gemini Award-winner for Best Performance by a Sports Broadcaster... He began his broadcasting career in Grand Rapids, Michigan, while attending Aquinas College where he was a Political Science graduate... In 1970, he returned to Canada and worked for four years in radio at CHUM and CFRB in Toronto... From there he moved to CBLT in 1974 as the anchor on the 6 PM news until 1983 when he moved to CBC Sports... The Winnipeg, Manitoba native resides in Toronto with his wife Geraldine and their three daughters.

JOHN CERUTTI
Colour Commentator (CBC Network)

2001 will be his fifth season as the Colour Commentator for CBC's telecast of Blue Jays games... The former major league pitcher pitched for the Toronto Blue Jays from 1985 through 1990 before finishing his career in 1991 with the Detroit Tigers... The Toronto Blue Jays selected the left-hand pitcher in the first round of the 1981 June Free Agent Draft... Appeared in 229 games with 116 starts and was 49-43 with four saves and a 3.94 ERA... The Albany, NY native was the winning pitcher in the Blue Jays first ever victory at SkyDome on June 7, 1989... The 40 year old currently resides in Oldsmar, FL with his wife Claudia and their three children.

TSN

DAN SHULMAN
Play-by-Play Announcer (TSN)

2001 marks his seventh season as TSN's Play-by-Play man... The 34 year old Toronto native began his sportscasting career in 1986 while studying actuarial science at the University of Western Ontario... Broadcasted Mustang play by play for varsity basketball... Graduated from Western in 1989... Took radio job in Barrie, Ontario (CKBB) in 1990... Moved to CJCL (1430) in September 1991 working as a reporter/sportscaster... With “The Fan” from 1992-1995 beginning as a talk show host... Also hosted Jays Talk in 1992 & 1993... February 1993 moved to afternoon drive slot on “The Fan”... In 1994 worked the Winter Olympics in Lillehamer and the World Championships of Basketball for CTV... Broadcasts Major League baseball and NCAA basketball for ESPN, as well as MLB playoffs for ESPN radio... Came on board with TSN in February 1995... He and his wife Sarah reside in Thornhill with their sons Matthew, Alex and Ben.

PAT TABLER
Colour Commentator (TSN)

Replaces Blue Jays Manager and former analyst Buck Martinez in the 2001 season... Began with The Sports Network in 1993 as a studio analyst on TSN's half-hour pre-game show, “Baseball Tonight”... Has also filled in occasionally as a colour commentator on TSN's live Blue Jays broadcasts... Was the New York Yankees first round pick in the 1976 free agent draft... Began his Major League career in 1981 with the Chicago Cubs and went on to play 12 seasons including stops with Cleveland (1983-87), Kansas City (1988-89), New York Mets (1990) and finally with Toronto (1991-92)... The former first baseman/designated hitter was a career .282 hitter with 47 home runs and 512 RBI... With the Blue Jays in two seasons, including the 1992 World Championship team, he batted .231 with one home run and 37 RBI in 131 games... Is known as one of baseball's greatest career clutch hitters, batting nearly .500 in bases loaded situations... The 43 year-old lives with his wife Susan in Cincinnati, Ohio and has three children, Tyler (20), Kathryn (16) and Troy (12).

ROGERS SPORTSNET

Rogers Sportsnet, Canada's first 24-hour regional sports service, launched October 9, 1998 and the Toronto Blue Jays have a multi-year agreement to broadcast up to 42 games, starting in 1999. Rogers Sportsnet will cater to viewers needs in four regions: East (Quebec and Atlantic Provinces), Ontario, West (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Northwest Territories), Pacific (British Columbia and Yukon Territories).

ROB FAULDS
Play-by-Play Announcer (Sportsnet)

The 2001 season will be the first full season for Rob as the play-by-play broadcaster for Sportsnet's Blue Jays telecasts... Over the last two seasons has worked on Blue Jays broadcasts on a fill-in basis... Serves as the play-by-play broadcaster for Ottawa Senators telecasts and is the host of Ford Raptors Basketball... Joined CTV in 1995 and has worked a variety of events including NHL, MLB, NBA, CFL, figure skating, two Olympic games, Junior Hockey, tennis, golf, track & field, curling and swimming... Began broadcasting while at Western University and then moved on to CFPL in London, Ontario in 1975... He then made stops in Sudbury, Winnipeg and Montreal before joining CTV... He has also worked as a radio broadcaster on Montreal Expos games in 1987 & 1988... The 45-year-old native of Hamilton, Ontario now resides in Toronto with his wife, Andrea and their son Ethan.
