View Full Version : Valentines Day
Anybody have any plans? or ideas?
I'm usually really good at this but limitations have popped up.
Both my wife and I are on a healthy weight loss mission, and so far have been pretty successful. It is definately throwing a kink into the planning. No chocolate, no rich foods.
So far, my only big thing is candles, rose petals, music, and wine. (I know people at a wholesale flower outfit who will give me a huge box of petals.)
Different but still significant.

why don't you make a romantic HEALTHY dinner for her? :D even salads can look romantic :) i don't know if you have any good health food stores in your area, but there are a ton of delicious healthy things you can make (appetizers/snacks/etc).... creating a romantic setup alone is a wonderful thing.... i know a ton of women (including myself) who are a sucker for that sort of thing.... ooooh what's also romantic is a nice rose-petal bath with aromatherapy oils and candles....you can make your wife a sensual valentine's bath, i don't know how any woman can resist that! :D

Amen
Blah, blah blah:angry:
I do a ton of the cooking, even more since we started eating better and broiling things. I get up every morning ahead of my wife so I can get breakfast ready. I also cook most of the meat and fish that we eat for dinners.
I was already planning on cooking Saturday night. I'll probably broil some Salmon, maybe some steam some asparagas, and add some squash or some other vegetable. For desert, instead of the chocolate dipped strawberries that I did last year, I'll go with some mixed fruits. (I also thought about a main course of Monkfish, if I can find it. It has a marvelous flavlor, kind of like lobster or scallops, and also mirrors their texture.)
I do have some scented massage oils around, don't have any bath oils, at this point. Good idea!
Hey, guys, sorry to bring up the sore topic. Didn't mean to bring anyone down.

You should show your love for someone 365 days a year (366 this year ;)) and not just ONE stupid day when restaurants charge more....flowers cost more....etc....
I'd rather get flowers on May 25th or Sept 16th when I know it came from the heart out of love then pressure on V-day.

Awwwwwww........ TC...... you have a nice Valentine's planned!
My sweetie is in Salt Lake City, doing a play. And he's all involved in work, so he sort of gets consumed. But I sent him a card anyway. :D
But I'm going to Cancun tomorrow so I'll be sort of consumed myself. :D So that's what I'll be doing Valentine's Day. Basking in the sun, drinking margaritas. :sun:
By the way, if any of you watch "Law and Order: Criminal Intent", he'll be on it on Sunday. He has a small part...... you know how they do it, they speak to different people during the investigation. He plays a guy named Harvey. I helped him with his lines, and I can't even remember who this character is...... I think he's a car mechanic? :notme: :hmm: Whatever. Anyhoo, if you happen to catch it, his name should be in the opening credits..... Tony Campisi. Cyn should recognize him.... she met him once. :D
Have a Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!!!

Gary, I wasn't all too impressed with Jaymez, in all honesty. He was weird.

I was thinking on a nice dinner and a movie. There is this nice resturant by the theater that is nice. At the table before we go in I have it arranged for flowers to be there for her. Also afterards she needs new shoes real bad so imma go deal with shoe shopping and tell her to buy a pair...anypair she wants. Then to a movie...something romantic that she wants to see...after that back to my place where I will have some champain and candles and peddles set up. I just have to remeber to go to the washroom at the movies and call to have my bud lite the candles. I hope she likes it all.

Eh, they're just jealous that they're not getting laid regular ... Surest sign is someone protesting a holiday of love, contrived or otherwise.
Nanner's two cents:

You lucky stiff! Where are you staying (even though you're gone already)? ... We'll watch for Mr. Campisi's appearance.

Absolutely not true! .:naughty: I definately "gets mines" :D
I just don't believe in "forced" romance on one single day that is set up by Hallmark and the floral industry to make money off us suckers.
Romance and love can be ANYTIME of the year and I'd rather my honey not shell out big bucks on the day they charge more for everything.
You know Roses and restaurants will be back to regular prices on Feb 15th.
