Just checking a few things and getting ready to hop on the bike before work...

1st baseball game tonight for me as I am going to see the UCF (Central Florida) baseball team take on very highly ranked (#2 & #3 depending on the poll) LSU in their home opener...

Not as big of a fan of college baseball but hey, its baseball:thumbsup:

Hope all is well on your side of the world:cool:

Have a good one:D

Working for me already. Cold morning here in Dallas, calling for snowy mix tonight. So it could make for a white Valentines Day tomorrow. But all is good here.

James have fun at the Game. Go UCF.

Everyone else have a great FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH!!!!

Damn! It just started sleeting here Joe! You guys are likely to get it pretty bad if we're getting frozen stuff this far south!

I'll be a Nervous Nellie later this morning when I have to drive over to the feed store in Bulverde ... None of us down here really knows how to drive in this stuff, and the local yokels just aren't outfitted to handle the stuff (i.e., sanding, etc) ... If it comes a flood or runs at about 105° for six straight weeks, we can handle that, but not the frozen precip.

Happy Friday the 13th to everyone!

-9 yesterday morning.

However, a nice ridge building over the area next week might get us close to 60. :D

We've got little 3-inch icicles hanging off the roof and fences and cars, something you don't see too often in these parts, maybe once a year. I'd go outside and take a closer look at them right now if I wasn't such a wuss :D

Ok, life's most perplexing question: How is it possible for some people to live to be older than about 15-20 with such small brains? :notme: I understand it, don't like it, but I understand it when teens aren't driving very safe, maybe too fast or tailgating or whatever ... I think everyone's a pretty bad driver when they first start off ... But why do adults, especially anyone in a car with their children, drive like flippin' devils?!

It's a 20-minute drive on little farm-to-market roads from my house to the nearest really full-sized grocery ... I have to go get some stuff at the feed store any way today, so it was decided I'd do the weekly food shopping ... Speed limit is 60 most of the way, most of the time you can drive 60-65 with no problem ... Most of the time it's not sleeting with ice on the road ... I refuse to pull to the shoulder (breakdown lane) anymore these days because of the accidents ... There are just too many blind spots, and people have been killed the last year pulling to the shoulder to let someone pass then coming over a rise and running into someone stopped in the lane ... I'll pull over if I can see as far as it's going to take for Mario Andretti to get around, bit no other time.

I am absolutely groovin' on a Jimmie Dale Gilmore song, puttering along about 52-55 MPH and taking in all of the icy scenery, and never saw her until she was right on bumper, practically in the bed of my pickup ... We're in a spot where there's a double yellow line down the center, just one of those limited sight areas that nobody is supposed to pass ... She starts waving her frickin' hands at me to pull to the shoulder and let her around  So I think maybe there is some emergency, remove foot from accelerator and go to pull to the shoulder ... Too late, she's already there! But then she decides that's too dangerous and gets back behind me, still waving her hands and now flipping me off!

That was it for my nickel, I'm getting off this ride ... I'm seriously going to turn into the Hwy 46 Cafe up ahead just to get away from her, and she passes me on the left and forces an oncoming car to slow and pull to its shoulder to avoid the head-on.

Musta' been about a mile up the road I come over a hill and just ahead of me is a county mountie making a very dramatic u-turn and, I correctly assume, going after her ... Still a few miles to the grocery store, and I never see where he pulled her over.

Pull into the parking lot and, voila!, there she is with three more patrol units, and they have this crazy person on the hood in the sleet with handcuffs already ... I have no idea what she ended up doing, but they are hog-tying this b!tch and it takes three of them to toss this little 110 pound tantrum into the back of one squad car ... Then they start removing kids from her car, two total, one of them is an infant, 8 months tops, and was in the backseat with no child seat ... The other looked about 4-5 yrs old ... There was still a cop outside 30 mins later watching the tow truck operator hook her car up and haul it off.

Like I said, I'd go outside and look at the icicles, but I'm a wuss :freak: Plus, that woman might have a sister who lives nearby.
