I'll wager a guess and say Pete Rose

Toy Cannon

Nope, not Pete.

Obri

Yogi Berra?

Toy Cannon

Not Yogi, but you're moving up the ladder.

Willie Mays?

Toy Cannon

Not Willie, and not a HOF'er :naughty:

Toy Cannon

Not Silvera. We're looking for a pitcher.

Sal Maglie?

Toy Cannon

Not the Barber. Two of his teammates were Waite Hoyt and Al SImmons.

Damn TC!! How do you keep coming up with these great questions that are about to drive me crazy?:banghead

Another guess: LeRoy Mahaffey?:umm

Toy Cannon
02-28-2004, 07:45 PM
Not Roy Mahaffey :naughty:

He played on one team that had 5 future HOF'ers and a HOF manager. Another team had 5 future HF'ers.

He also played with 2 different "Reds".

George Earnshaw?

Yellow Dog

Sam Jones?

Toy Cannon

Koz and YD are both on he right track. He was a teammate of both Earnshaw and Jones.

won't be long now :bigsquare

Panzram

Am I to assume this guy was a teammates of Jones, Hoyt, Simmons and Earnshaw but possibly not in one given year?

Toy Cannon

You assume correctly.

Panzram

Joe Bowman?

Toy Cannon
02-29-2004, 09:20 AM
Not Bowman. For his career, he lost more games than he won.

Yellow Dog

Joe Bush?

Toy Cannon
02-29-2004, 11:25 AM
Not Bullet Joe, but he was a teammate of Bush on 2 different teams.

Its got to be Milt Gaston?

Panzram
02-29-2004, 01:49 PM
I think YD is right. Gaston would be my next guess.

WOO!HOO! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

See, that wasn't so hard :naughty:

The List:

Ted Lyons
Al SImmons
Jocko Conlon
Luke Appling
Red Farber
Red Ruffing
Bucky Harris
Sam Rice
Goose Goslin
Joe Cronin
George Sisler
Miller Huggins
Babe Ruth
Earl Coombs
Lou Gehrig
Herb Pennock
Waite Hoyt

That's 17 HOF'ers

No it wasn't that hard at all. It ONLY took me, koz, Obri and bama a combined total of 4 less guesses than the total number of HOFers he played with.

Its good to have put that one to rest! But that was a GREAT question. Without the clues, I would have been guessing from now to doomsday and still never come close to thinking of Gaston.
