Man. And Mora is one of their best guys.:hmm: :ohno: I know teams can't prohibit their players from playing winter ball, but how disheartening is it when something like this happens?!?
Geesh.:hmm: Poor Melvin.
Well, 6 weeks... he should be ready a couple of weeks into March.

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore Orioles center fielder Melvin Mora injured his hand during a collision in a Venezuelan winter league game and hurt his left hand.
Mora was scheduled to be examined by the Orioles' doctor on Wednesday, team spokesman Bill Stetka said.
"We'll know more after that," Stetka said. "I just know it happened when he collided with someone during a game on Saturday."
The Washington Post reported Mora broke his left thumb and will be sidelined for six weeks. The Orioles report to spring training on Feb. 14.
Mora, expected to be the team's starting center fielder and leadoff hitter, plays for the Magallanes Navigators in Venezuela. Mora, 30, had seven home runs, 48 RBI and a .250 batting average last year for the Orioles, splitting time between the outfield, where he played 88 games, and shortstop, where he played 43 games.
