The Mets wear pinstripes too. As do the Padres, the Phillies, the Astros and other teams.

It really ticks me off that the Skanks act as if they're the only team that does. We all know that they believe they're the only "real" team in baseball, but we also know better.

Me too!

And that bs about them being "America's team". :hmm:
Puh-leeze. Last time I checked there were no "Non-yankee" fans that supported the yankees. Most people in America were rooting frfor the marlins, the red-sox, the d-backs, the angels.

Mets better not get Soriano. If they give up Kazmir and Reyes, I cry and scream and wish awful things upon the mets management .:banghead: I don't want this team to be chock full of ex-Yankee and Yankee rejects.

I've never liked the Mets wearing pinstripes, and this is why.

Back in the early 60 when the Mets were being assembled, Mrs Payson, in her infinite wisdom, decided to give the new team a uniform which embodied New York’s rich baseball history, therefore, using these was the logical conclusion.

Dodger Blue
Giant Orange and
Yankee pinstripes :(

It's actually a differnet shade of blue. It was actually the Dodger blue and Giants orange that Mrs. Payson specified. The pinstripes just kind of came with the package. Joan Payson was a diehard National League fan, and I'm sure she felt the same was about the Skankees that we do.

Kind of like when George reassembled the 86 Mets in the Bronx, one by one! :lmao:

He also made sure to add a couple of '86 Sox. Don't forget Boggs and the Rockette.
