PORT ST LUCIE, Florida (Ticker) - Jeo Weong Seo, who is expected to the fourth starter in the New York Mets' rotation, was one of five players to sign one-year contracts on Tuesday.
Fellow righthanders Grant Roberts and Jeremy Griffiths and outfielders Jeff Duncan and Prentice Redman also signed on Tuesday.
Financial terms for all of the contracts were not disclosed.
Seo, a 26-year-old native of Korea, was 9-12 with a 3.82 ERA in 32 games, including 31 starts, for the Mets last season. He is expected to be behind Tom Glavine, Al Leiter and Steve Trachsel in the rotation this season.
Roberts, 26, was 0-3 with a 3.79 ERA in 18 games for the Mets after returning from a shoulder injury.
Griffiths, 25, went 1-4 with a 7.02 ERA in nine games, including six starts.
The 25-year-old Duncan hit .194 in 56 games for the Mets last season. Redman, 24, appeared in 15 games and hit .125.
