What two players hit their only ML home runs in the last ABs of their careers?

I got way more than two. Clay Van Alstyne, Ed Hobaugh and Kevin Pasley in the AL alone. On baseball almanac it has "home run in final at bat" and the guys with only one HR for the career must have hit it at their final at bat unless it's a typo.

Well, Wilhelm hit his only one in his first at-bat, but. . . :D

I know Tim Stoddard did it with the SDP, but it wasn't his final game since he finished his career in the AL.

Hmmm, you appear to be right about that. Evidently Baseball Alamanc, which was my source for the question, has some mis-leading info on that page. :umm

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, to the Fast Facts box, you will see where I got the question. The only two they mention are Tim Stoddard and Tony Brewer. But upon further review, it doesn't actually say they were the only two, however it leads you to believe that's what they are implying.

My mom, who was a teacher, used to always tell me to "look it up" whenever I asked her a question.

So I don't have any problem with somebody looking up an answer if they don't know it off hand. Besides, NOBODY could answer some of these questions that Toy Cannon asks with out looking them up.

But that's half the fun, doing research and looking for an answer that you don't know. It's amazing how many OTHER interesting facts you sometimes run across while looking for an answer to a particular question. Its a great way to learn stuff.

It is interesting. I have like 20 Baseball Almanacs, dictionaries, etc...

I just didn't know we could use em to answer stuff here.

I'll be able to answer plenty now. :smokin:

The Baseball Almanac we were referring to was...

www.baseball-almanac.com

Its a great source for finding all types of trivia facts. You can look up everything from past rosters, player stats, uniform numbers, HOF, WorldSeries and All-Star Game facts. About anything you want to know since 1900. You should check it out.

And NOW, princess, I'm going to be looking forward to seeing you answer our questions and contribute some of your own.:D
