Who would prefer this over the DL keeper system?
Again it would qualify people under a certain amount of at-bats or innings pitched like probably....
-175 or less at bats for a hitter
-10 or less starts by a pitcher who started in 80% or more of thier appearances
-25 or less innings pitched by a pitcher who releived in 80% or more of thier appearances
What this does is let you freely keep people who were really lost for the season, as well as former benched players and busts... and it gives the twist of value to busts that we hoped the dl system would. It's better also because you can't get loaded with them or end up with thier roster half full come draft day because we'd have a straight up cap of 4, and they must be on your roster on the final day of the season.
And, to keep the loads of september call ups from flooding in there would be a rule that a player must have debued in the majors before the all-star break.
It would replaces both the DL keepers and rookie keeper section.
