Now we've lost Mark McLemore for 6-8 weeks. He's going to have to have arthroscopic surgery on his knee.

NOW what are we gonna do?!?!? He was supposed to be our all-purpose, super-utility player!!! I say see what Jose Bautista, the Rule 5 guy, can do at 2nd and short, even though he's a 3rd baseman. Or........ hmmmmm. Since Melvin is a super utility player, I hope they don't go back on their decision for him to be our 3rd baseman and put Bautista at 3rd, thereby keeping him, and use Melvin in a utility role.
That would suck, actually. He'd be back to not knowing if he was going to play or not.
Maybe they'll try Bautista in utility, and keep Melvin at 3rd. I think they'll do that.
Or keep Mike Fontenot...... Scrappy Font...... with the team instead of sending him to the minors.

JUPITER, Fla. (AP) -- Baltimore Orioles utilityman Mark McLemore will have arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and miss six to eight weeks.
McLemore, signed to a minor league contract in February, was injured after he singled leading off the third inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday. He was removed for a pinch-runner.
An MRI on Saturday showed a torn medial meniscus. McLemore will start theseason on the disabled list.
Notes
OF Jay Gibbons left Saturday's game against St. Louis with a bruise and cut on his right hand after being hit by Matt Morris' pitch in the first inning. He is day-to-day. ... RHP Denny Bautista finally reported to the Orioles' camp Saturday after being delayed by visa problems in his native Dominican Republic. He was sent to minor league camp in Sarasota, where he will undergo his physical Sunday. ... Orioles manager Lee Mazzilli said LHP Rob Ramsay, a non-roster invitee, will pitch before the team breaks camp. Ramsay underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor in January 2002. He has not pitched in the majors since 2000 with Seattle. ``I'll give him a chance. We'll get themout there,'' Mazzilli said.
