To win a league MVP, a player has to put together some very good stats over a 162 game schedule. But to be named MVP of a World Series, he needs only to get hot for a few games. Don Larsen(56), Bucky Dent(78), and Rick Dempsey(83) each won a World Series MVP, but they didn't ever come close to winning a league MVP.
