Not sure on the hitting part of this trivia but I think I know the pitching part:
AL- Carl Scheib 16 (8m5d) pitched on 09-06-1943
NL- Joe Nuxhall 15 (10m11d) pitched on 06-10-1944

#3 is answered! You're absolutely correct, James! :bigsquare
#2 is kinda' obscure, but it's out there in some of the trivia books...

Is the answer to the youngest HR hitter,
Tommy Brown in 1945, who was 17 years 3 months?
Believe the youngest player to get a pinch-hit in the AL was Mel Acosta in 1913 (17 years old), but don't know if there was a younger player in the NL

HMatsui, your answer to #1 is correct, but I think my source is daft. Acording to Great Baseball Feats, Facts & Firsts, Tommy Brown pegged Bucco Preacher Roe on August 20th, 1945, when he was 17 years, 4 months and 14 days old. His birthday is listed in several sources as December 6th, 1927, however, which would have made him 17 years, 8 months and 14 days old.
Your answer to #2 (AL) is also correct, but I have a question...born as Baldomero Pedro (Fernandez) Acosta, and listed as Merito Acosta in the Total Baseball player register, but nowhere can I find a Mel Acosta, except as the answer to this question in the (very same!) book Great Baseball Feats, Facts & Firsts. I'm sure it's the same guy (the dates all jive), just no reference to the name Mel. I think I will retire Great Baseball Feats, Facts & Firsts...
The answer to #2 (NL) is a much more prominent guy named Mel... ;)
Good work!
