Billy Koch saw his ERA ballon fron 2.70 to 11.25 with his 9th inning meltdown against the Royals this afternoon, giving up 4 runs in 2/3 of an inning. The key blows were a 2-run game tying shot by Carlos Beltran, and a go-ahead tape measure bomb by Mike Sweeney giving the Royals a 9-8 lead.
Fortunately for us,Royals closer Curtis Leskanic had his own 9th inning meltdown, with a little help from his defense,as the Sox won a wild one 10-9 this afternoon.
Joe Crede was the hero with a game-winning single with no outs in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Sox the win.
