Rodriguez Will Skip Home Run Derby
SEATTLE (AP) -- Alex Rodriguez, one homer shy of the AL lead, will skip the Home Run Derby during Monday's All-Star workout at Safeco Field.
''I'll take (the derby) off, play the game Tuesday night and enjoy that,'' the Texas Rangers' shortstop said.
Rodriguez will start Tuesday at Safeco Field. He played six seasons in Seattle before signing a record $252 million contract with the Rangers in the offseason.
Rodriguez has 24 homers, one behind Boston's Manny Ramirez.
