DENVER -- Tight end Shannon Sharpe has decided against retirement and will return for his 13th season with the Denver Broncos and his 15th in the NFL.

The seven-time Pro Bowler said Wednesday that he will return to Denver for at least one more season.

"This was a no-brainer," Sharpe told The Denver Post from his home in Atlanta. "When it came down to it, I said to myself, 'Hey, you can still play, you can still play at a high level and you still enjoy playing. Why not play?' "

Sharpe told coach Mike Shanahan of his decision a few days ago, and club officials confirmed it Wednesday. The news came just a few days before the NFL draft.

I love this loud mouth. I dont know anyone who wares his own self portart on his head after the game on post game interviews. I dont think they will let him ware that horse mouth on TV!!!

My man Shannon is a little mushmouth and kinda homely but far from illiterate.
If you don't like him, too bad. Get ready to watch him run his mouth all he wants on one of the major sports networks after this season. :doublefin

I don't necessarilly like the guy, but every once in a while when he stops being an idiot long enough, he's one of the only guys that has the guts to actually say what's on his mind and call out people that probably need to be called out.

Not so fast. Sharo might be having Sunday morning breakfast with you!!!

The Rocky Mountain News is reporting that CBS is closing in on a deal with tight end Shannon Sharpe to serve as a football analyst for the network. Sharpe has made a commitment to play for Denver this season, but may change his mind and join CBS. Talks between Sharpe and CBS have been described as "serious." He would replace Deion Sanders, who stepped away from CBS earlier this month.
