Several reports out of Chicago say that the Bears will likely pursue quarterback Kurt Warner, who is seeking permission from his team to trade him before they release him. Warner understands Chicago's offense, which is why it is believed the two sides would be a perfect fit for one another. Warner would serve as Rex Grossman's backup. ... The Bears say that the Adewale Ogunleye trade rumors are just that...rumors. Ogunleye, Miami's sack specialist, wants to be traded to Chicago, but no deal is happening anytime soon, according to the Chicago Tribune. Also, the team reports that running back Anthony Thomas is not being traded.

 I dont want him on the Bears's roster! They've got Grossman, Quinn, Krenzel, and Zak Kustok.

why would anyone want Kurt Warner on their team? I think he's washed up. He should retire.

no, i dont think hes washed up. in the right system he will be alright.
that being said, for some reason the bears seem more interested in couch than warner. i'd rather have warner...

Warner has fractured his hand several times and it's affected his throwing obviously.
I hope he catches onto another team and becomes successful again.
Why would any team trade for him when they can wait a month and get him for free?

You are right Babs. Curt has had some bad breaks.... And I think he has pushed himself to come back way to soon because he was worried about losing his starting job and wasnt right and then gave up a ton of INTs and hurt his hand again. You put Kurt in a Viking system or a good passing system I think he could be a Pro-Bowler again.
And then Ray I have heard to the Bears have hopped in the Couch talks. Funny what a team will do to keep a player from going to other teams in there Div.

yah, i dont think they will seriously go after Couch. I dont want Couch. I can deal with Warner's Bible Thumping cuz he is still a better QB than couch could ever be.
too bad we cant muzzle brenda. lol

If Kurt goes to a team that can give him good protection, he can be good again. He got his ASS KICKED for four years with the Rams. He took a beating week in and week out. Kurt is not a wimp who will avoid a sack or dump the ball. He stands in there until he can deliver a pass and he takes the licks. He's a tough QB with (unfortunately) a glass hand.

That is funny!!! She does need to shut her trap and Kurt needs to reach in her bag and drag out his balls and put them back on.... And then tell her to shutup!!!

Bears got permission to speak with Couch, the rumors is going around that the Packers wants him to back up Favre for couple of years or so.
Bears might get Couch, Warner, or Collins. Who knows? I was hoping they dont fall for Warner and his glass hand!!!

The reason that a team would try to trade for him now rather than wait until he is released is because then you are competing with 31 other teams for his services, and that can drive the price up.
That being said, given protection, Warner could still be one hell of a QB.

just like Bledsoe then? These guys need a great team around them to be good, and then they get all the credit, even though everyone else around them is better.
