There hasn't been anyone in the Pirate forum other than me since about 1 AM this morning... you guys didn't find a new baseball site, you found a new chatroom, best that I can tell. Folks will come here looking to talk about their favorite team and find nobody to exchange posts with and they will leave and never return. When starting from the ground up with a new site, it is very important to build the related forums up... unless all you want is a new Just Talk forum. Let me know, because if that is the case, I won't waste my time posting to myself in the Pirate forum and I'll take down the related fan site link at the onlybucs.com Pirate board...

Jimbo, please be patient....I am trying to generate more interest in the baseball forums with posts but the boards even though have been around are just starting to generate some interest....We have only been coming here about a week.....
Thank you for including the site on the the Bucs forum....

James, I didn't post that as a threat. More of a wake-up call. If people are coming here and posting hundreds of Just Talk messages, and nothing in the team forums, that sends a message that this isn't a serious baseball fan site to the visitors that happen to stumble in. I know that you guys are serious fans and all, but the view of the general public is going to be what they see in an empty room... I know that Pirate fans (to use an example) are here, I see them listed on the site at the bottom. They just need to show more interest in the baseball forums and tear away from the compelling JT long enough to make it look to the casual observer that something is happening in a forum and give them something to reply to. Many newbies are prone to check out a site for a while before posting anything on their own. Coming into an empty forum time after time is not condusive to recruiting new members... I am and will continue to be patient, never fear.

Hey jimbo.

When starting from the ground up with a new site, it is very important to build the related forums up

i know me and josh both have been doing our best to build the site up. and as for it being dead we have the second most posts here besides the talk forum. what do you mean by nobodys home?

most of the posts with the exception of the welcome posts in the pirates forum have been team related. My mouse was broken today how was i supposed to post :P? theres only so many things you can cover especially when no one reads them.

Hey I'm all alone in the Braves forum, as far as Braves fans, but it's ok. One day there will be more http://forum.addictsports.com/baseball/ubb/smile.gif

If you build it, they will come.

You guys are all missing my point... it isn't for ME that things need to be posted and updated regularly in the various forums, but for every first time visitor that hits on the site and looks at it. I know it will grow, but they do not. Believe me, I have been that one-time visitor to many other boards. I check it a few times the first and maybe a second day, and if it remains dormant, I move on and don't even register. What I am trying to say is, to attract people, the board needs to show activity. How many of you did I personally ask to check out the Pirate forum at sleeperpicks? I made sure that when you got there, there were links to articles of interest, things were posted that needed to be responded to, and I even took the time to personally welcome as many of you as I could. Now, I know that you cannot just live in front of the monitor, neither can I for the most part, but when taking on a brand new forum it needs constant tending until it can stand on it's own...

Don't take offense, I am in your corners... just want to help this thing be successful and not turn into a chatroom with, oh yea, some baseball forums too.
