Who has the highest differential between B.A. and O.B.P in both a single season and career (different guys for each answer) with a minimum of 5000 at-bats?

As for career wise, The best I can find is a tie between Ted Williams and Eddie Yost with a difference of .137

My guess for a single season is Bonds last year....He hit .328 and had an OBP% of .515, a difference of .187...

No guess on the career.....If you hadn't put a minimum AB's I would have guessed Max Bishop who hit .271 and had an OBP% of .423, a difference of .152 but he only had 4494 AB's.....

Ok, time to hand out the awards....

Kudos to James for his Bonds answer.
It's easy to pay attention to all of Bonds's other accomplishments last year -- James saw past that!!!

For the largest career difference, we'll give a half a kudo to IMGreat, who answered Ted Williams and Eddie Yost, with differences of .137...

According to my numbers, Yost is the correct answer.
He had a career avg. of .254/ OBP of .394, equaling a .140 difference.
Williams was a close second, with an avg. of .344/OBP of .482, coming to a .138 margin.

***James, you're also right that Bishop would have been the hands-down winner, had I made the question 5000 plate appearances, instead of at-bats. Also, Eddie Stanky and Gene Tenace would have surpassed Yost's total.
