Looked like Womack dragged his spike across Todd's head, getting the throw off on the 2nd half of the DP. That was scarey, Todd waving his arm around..... did you see the blood on his ear?! He looked like he was in such pain! :eek:

Oh, SH*T! My heart nearly jumped in my throat! :eek: It was very scary to see him kneeling and clutching his head. Poor Hottie Toddie! Let me nurse him back to health. He'll have a HUGE headache when he wakes up this morning. :( Get Well quick, Toddie so I can see you play this Sunday which is doubtful.

His ear is bandaged and was given an ok to play by the doctors half an hour before game time since he practically owns Marquis! :banana:

He looks so cute and adorable when smiling in the dugout with bandaged ear while high fiving everyone.

Zeile, meanwhile, had his right ear cut in two places after getting spiked by Tony Womack while attempting to break up a double play. Though he may require some plastic surgery down the road :eek: , Zeile was relieved that the injury was nothing major.

"The move was more my fault than his," Zeile said. "I popped up into him and he caught me with his spikes. The toughest part was getting it cleaned out and sutured up. I've had a concussion before and I didn't have that kind of impact so I wasn't worried about that.

"The only thing was that, initially, I could feel it deep in my ear. I had to wait for the ringing to stop to make sure there was no loss of hearing."

Zeile then homered in his first at-bat, sending Marquis' 1-2 offering over the left field fence to give New York a short-lived 2-0 lead. He finished the day going 1-for-4 with a strikeout and a walk.
