he sucks this year, ever since that incredible year after being a closer, he hasn't really proved anything.

And this dude thinks he can get a big contract and be a #1 starter? HAHA! What a loser! :D He needs to get traded.

My thoughts exactly. Man, he just sucks right now. Even when he was at his worst as a closer he was not this bad. He got lit up by THE WORST HITTING TEAM IN BASEBALL.

UGH.

Well, I'm not feeling upset right now at the probability that we won't re-sign him.

Hey guys,

I think what is most interesting about watching Lowe is how everyone assumed that he would be better this year because of the improved infield defense. Yes, that could have happened, but obviously 2003 was a monikor of things to come. Usually, people are moved to the bullpen for a reason in the minors like Lowe was initially. Personally, I would let him go and try to bolster my offer to Pedro.

I wonder what's wrong with him...maybe his ego is getting in the way of him pitching the freaking ball. But, at least now we have a legit reason to dump him and get someone else. Or use that money to try and sign D. ortiz. I read in the Globe today they were getting closer to signing him, so that'd be great.

I've been screaming by myself to dump Lowe and keep Pedro.

or dump both :hmm: but if I had to choose between the two, there is no doubt. Lowe's gotta go.

yes lowe's gotta go, unless he can show he's worth the money and wants to stay.

Lowe had a slow start last year because the skin cancer kept him out of Spring Training. After his first five or so starts, he pitched strong last year and then had a great 2004 Spring Training. I had high hopes for him this year and honestly thought he'd hit 20 wins.

What the hell happened? He is NOT a $9 million a year pitcher anymore. I like Derek Lowe, but we'd be dumb to sign him for that much.
