Besides the Superbowl 36 and 38?? The Colts and Bucs game 2003, week 5. Indy down 21 points in the fourth, force the OT and won it. Great game. Though I hate Manning and the Colts, I hate the Bucs even more. ;)

I can't recall exactly where it was, but it was a playoff game between the Steelers & Colts 3-4 years ago. If my memory serves me, the game ended with a Colts TD (interception ?) with no time left on the clock.

What a battle that was!

There have been so many that its hard to narrow it down to just one. But if I had to think of one that stands out in my mind more than any other it would probably be the 1967 NFL Championship Game between Dallas and Green Bay, better known as the "Ice Bowl." A classic battle between two great, evenly matched teams that had to overcome the elements as well as their opposition with an NFL title on the line.

The 1978 MNF game between the Oilers & Dolphins is probably the best NFL game I've seen in person.

Forgive my ignorance, but can someone explain to me why that 1958 championship game between the Giants and the Colts is considered the greatest ever?

I know it was a great defensive battle between these two teams, but..?

I can only vaguely remember watching the game with my dad and uncle. I think I was in the second grade at the time. But I think one reason a lot of people consider it the greatest game ever is because of its historical significance. For the first time ever, it brought the NFL to the forefront and to the attention of the American public on a large scale and made it a hot commodity for television.

But it was a great game. A championship game that goes to sudden death is always going to be remembered as one of the greatest. And this game was full of legendary names and future Hall of Famers like Unitas, Berry, Moore, Huff and Gifford. And a lot of other great players like Charley Conerley, Gene "Dig Daddy" Lipscombe, Don Joyce, Alan Ameche just to name a few.

I guess its really just a matter of opinion. I can easily understand how people can make the arguement for this game being one of the greatest. I don't know that it was the greatest ever. Maybe if I actually had a better memory of it, I might think so.

what about the pats vs. colts game during the 04 season? the pats defense stuffs the colt's high powered offense at the .5 yard line to secure victory. that was a pretty intense and great game as well.

Ok I will take a shot now.

Oct. 17, 1994 Monday Night Football.

K.C. vs Denver

Montana vs Wrong Way Elway

The game went back-and-forth all night with neither team gaining a true advantage. It was tied 7-7 after one quarter, 14-14 at halftime and 21-21 as they entered the fourth quarter.

The game remained tied until Lin Elliott kicked a 19-yard field goal with 4:08 to go to give the Chiefs a 24-21 lead.

Elway, who had made six Broncos comebacks against the Chiefs already in his career, had the Broncos in line for another one until Shannon Sharpe fumbled on the Chiefs' 40 with just 2:45 to go.

Marcus Allen then fumbled the ball back over to Denver on the very next play.

On a Elway drive, he led the Broncos 39 yards on six plays, finishing it off himself with a 4-yard touchdown run to give them a 28-24 lead with just 1:29 left. He started to dance around like a jackass and looked like a idiot.... Doing old flashdance moves and not leaving the field until he went though all of the moves...

Then Montana got the ball. Montana near flawless in the two-minute drill, completing 7-of-8 passes as he moved them 75 yards on nine plays.
Then Willie Davis caught a pass and extended his arms at the goal line before reaching the pylon for a touchdown.

Montana cool as ever just did his touchdown signal with both arms raised and walked off the field along with that showing the world who was the better QB...

That is the greatest game I ever saw because the look on horse mouth Elway after the game was one of those priceless pix...

For me it was the 2001 AFC Championship game. Watching McGuinest, Ty, and Milloy waving towels screaming CANCEL YOUR RESERVATIONS was priceless.

I'll put in a vote for the 1981 AFC Divisional Playoff between San Diego and Miami. It was an overtime thriller that many consider the best game ever played.Kellen Winslow played his heart out in the game,he even blocked a field goal!

And who can forget the old hook and ladder play by the Dolphins late in the game.

The Bolts won 41-38 to advance to the AFC Championship Game. They went from 85 Degree Miami one week,to -50 wind chills in Cincinnati the next week, only to see thier Super Bowl dreams get dashed by the upstart Cincinnati Bengals.

I also believe it was the first NFL Championship game broadacst live on TV, that made it possible for so many people to say it was the greatest game they ever saw because it was the only game many of them had seen.
